2021 Softball Season

Texas might have to play at North Texas or look for a game because based on what I'm seeing from the weather it's looking to get worse than it was this weekend. All I want is to watch Texas softball but mother nature just won't let that happen:mad::(

Just as bad (or worse) forecast for Denton on Wednesday.

I fantasized today about what it would take to build an indoor softball stadium to handle the sleet and the burning sun we experience during a season. And then, I realized that the light and turned green and I had to go.

I think it's safe to say that Texas won't be starting the season on Wednesday:( Texas might not even play at the Tracy beard classic which is in Frisco Texas and starts on the 19th. I don't think anyone will be getting on these roads in this weather. If that's the case then Texas needs to reach out to teams like Alabama did and take a flight to play a series because that would be 10 games canceled due to the weather and would put us 10 steps behind other teams we are set to play.

Friday is the first day the high is supposed to be significantly above freezing, with a warm-up so that by Sunday the low will be above freezing and the high in the mid-50's.

Doesn't look good for outside activity.

Looks like no Tracy Beard Classic this weekend. The notice sighted "field conditions". I thought the weather was looking playable but I guess there isnt enough time to prepare fields...sigh. I hope we are taking advantage of new indoor facility.

Texas will play Wichita State & North Texas on Sunday. It doesn't say where but hopefully we get to watch! Sucks it's only two games but I'll take anything at this point

Edit: this will be a tournament played in Houston.

Do you have a location? Will fans be allowed?

That's what I'm looking to figure out. I'm checking their page to see if they have released any more info but nothing else has come up. I only saw it was being held in Houston so once more information becomes available I will let you know:hookem:

I would assume fans but who knows. Dont think the park would host it if they couldn't make money off the fans too. But hell I never thought I'd see a snow storm in Texas.
Its a nice complex but its an hour drive from my home. I have little doubt games will be played. Im just not sure about getting in the Houston game in March. This could be my only shot at supporting team in person. Decisions Decisions...

BTW I think they may allow fans in Lake Charles against McNeese. "Only 2 hour drive"....And then there's Baton Rouge......Hookem

Can someone who has payed for flosports explain the charges to me. If I get the yearly subscription does it charge me $150 at the purchase or does it charge $12.50 a month? I saw the monthly subscription was $30 and Im not paying that. So I'm really asking about the other option.

Thank you in advance

Was a good start for the team. Everyone appeared relived to finally be playing. Impressive crowd, very unimpressed with the lack of social distanting. Practicly no one in mask, players seemed hesitant the go to restrooms. The only safe place to be was in outfield standing area. I understand it was outside but mask could have been required for the sake of kids, young adults and us old folk...lol We will do better in Austin

Yeah I saw that and I saw on Facebook that someone asked if they could go and all the facility said was "mask and social distancing are recommended but not required". I saw that and was in shock and after the few videos I saw it looked as if we aren't still in a pandemic. Those stands were absolutely filled. I hope the team and staff come back safe. I bet Texas wouldn't have attended if they knew that masks and social distancing weren't required.

Couple notes from todays game:

Jefferson is hitting the ball harder and for more power this year

Popelka and Cantu will be the pinch runners and defense replacements until their turns come up in the line up again.

Alyssa Washington will be an improvement offensively and defensively once she settles in.

The ball jumps off Whitakers bat.

O'leary will get rocked some this year when she leaves her drop up.
