2021 Recruiting - Football

With each new LSU signing, the recruiting impact of our loss to them (and overall unremarkable season) last year, coupled with their subsequent CFB Championship, become apparent.

But all it will take to turn it around...BEAT LSU and win the conference and we get who we want, and Earle will be calling Tom asking for a ship !!!!!!!

New offers

5-star OT Tristan Leigh from Virg - #4 OT per the comp

3-star WR Casey Cain of New Orleans

3-star ILB Andrew Jones from Louisiana

they took the top two safeties in the state too. it might not be 100% aggy fault but i blame them anyway

I read WR JoJo Earle's family was big UT fans, they all wear the burnt orange. On top of that, we had excellent seasons at his position from LJH to Duvernay. Plus, we have a good returning QB. I am getting tired of losing these type of top in-state players

We let TCU flip WR Quentin Johnson (they did not even make a bowl game last season and lack a good QB) and now we may lose WR Theo Knox too (to a Pirate!). If so, then Andre Coleman needs to be put on probation. He is supposed to be solid at coaching up WRs (which will be a nice change) so hopefully this is true which will positively affect the perception of the program at this position. But its not looking so great at the moment

2022 looks to be solid class for WRs. Herman needs to get it figured out

Another offer - #3 player in Nev

I heard he got unreal moves.

He has a brother in Houston and, according to Nahlin, he is "a culture fit."
He says he is built like Duvernay and if we get him on campus, we have a good shot.

Since we appear to be striking out with the top in-state WRs, we are pursuing more OOS players, including Jackson and Cain (see a few posts above). Coleman started following several others in this class. Louisiana in particular has a lot of WRs this class and LSU will no doubt sign some of the top ranked national WRs, so there is opportunity there this year.

The defensive staff is doing better than the offensive staff

Here is the Jackson film. He looks better than Cain.

We need some good news. I am a bit worried about all of these out of state offers. 1st goal should be a lock down of the state and then cherry picking out of state. Perhaps I am wrong, but it looks like TH might be throwing in the towel with the in state kids. Reminds me of the post Akers and pre Brown eras when it seemed all the top in state kids left the state. That is a nightmare

It's a process, we don't have players that look like theirs. We are starting to get there but still a few years out. Great news, we are competing with all these teams that have better DNA on their rosters at the moment... Not counting if underclassmen come out early, but I don't see any seniors getting drafted the first 2 days maybe 3 next year either.
