2021 Recruiting - Football

Yes and some of those will be transferring due to lack of playing time sitting behind others for too long. Right now they love the intention and notoriety of signing with the Alabama but being on the bench for at least 2 years they will come to their senses. Come on over boys.
If we show better than we have, I agree. Right now Sark has the golden touch. Hoping his coaching hires demonstrate they can coach and develop players!!!

Thanks again Brockermeyers
I dont blame the Brockermeyers. Looking at the 2 programs, 1 puts people in the NFL, 1 doesnt. Again hoping that changes with Sark but I dont blame those kids. They have to do whats best for their future and again I think TH probably did something to sour this setup. He probably gave the current brother the preferred walk on to help with the younger more coveted 2 and when they spurned TH he probably exposed himself as the childish POS that he is.

Some CBs in for Uke to Texas

Wiltfong still thought Stanford led as of last night
But Roach says he heard something good for us this am
He will be at that signing, which is around noon

I took them off my virtual Mardis Gras party Evite list

Write-up on Ibraheem --

With his tall and long frame, Ibraheem has excellent length for a corner prospect. However, he prefers to sit and squat on the perimeter in off-coverage, where he can use his instincts, awareness, and reaction quickness. He must acquire more reps in press-man coverage, work on his off-hand jam and continue developing his ball skills and wrap-tackling ability. Yet, his size and awareness could allow him to play well as a field corner in a defense with heavy cover-3, cover-4, and cover-6 concepts for its backend.
IMO, he was our only true cover corner this class. I think Jamier Johnson will turn out to be more safety or hybrid

Is Carrington still on staff? I have not kept myself updated with his saga.
As far as I can see....Yes...and that is why I was decrying any potential covert recruiting efforts away from UT on his part...Though these are all just rumor and innuendo. I hope it isn't true. Joe or someone posted a twitter pic of him w Bru McCoys dad, so if he is that bold I'd say he may be already gone and we've just missed the memo perhaps....or he is just cut from a cloth to which I cannot relate....Or I am just misunderstanding something. FWIW...his twitter is still all UT, though nothing recent I can see. And no official announcement that I am aware of since the word he would be staying. He did interview w USC apparently.

"Big-framed defensive end prospect with requisite height and body space to add significant bulk in a college strength and conditioning program. Experienced at end in a four-man front, but could potentially fit multiple schemes. Possibility to grow into an interior player depending on front. Strong at the point of attack. Shows ability to turn and steer blockers with inside arm. Plays with good arm extension to aid in disengaging ability. Dips and runs the arc fairly well for a larger end. Shows encouraging move set as a pass-rusher. Can improve get-off quickness and body control. Good in pursuit but gears down to change direction. Sometimes plays too high and goes upright at the snap. Bona fide Power 5-caliber defensive line prospect who flashes impressive hand violence and phone booth strength. Projects to the high-major level with potential for a long-term NFL Draft ceiling."

He was downgraded from 4-star to 3-star, but I don't know if that was due to on-field or off-field issues
He is still on the ESPN300 - I think we have 10 of them total

Look at his frame he reminds me of Ta'Quon Graham, he looks like he can add about 50 lbs of muscle over the next few years and end up an athletic DT.

Ibraheem is the first Oak Cliff product to sign with Texas since ....

Cameron Hampton - Carter (2014)
Jonathan Scott - Carter (2001)

Hampton redshirted and then transferred.
But Scott won a national championship and had a 6+ year NFL career
