GUNNAR!

Roach says -- "Gunnar Helm had a fantastic senior season en route to a state title in Colorado. Downfield threat as a tight end who can threaten the seam and expand the offense vertically."

If they are genuine Longhorns I’m happy. That’s what is needed now, play for your team and cherish the experience. Don’t fight the institution and it’s traditions just do your best to represent yourself, the team, and the university. Ah heck represent the entire State and tell aggie to fade away.

Regarding Mr. Sanders, new longhorn, the naysayers finally get to eat some large helpings of crow. :hookem3:

Would had been a solid defensive class had we held Bowman too
At least we have a DC now who knows what he wants with LB recruiting
Orlando's LB recruiting was a total mess

The annual what-could-have-been shoutout to Bill Powers

It's best not to make ourselves sick by looking at bama's, tosu, blow u's classes.
We're beating the bushes after grad xfers from McNeese St. Holy Cross, Ark.St.
Bama loading up on 5*s.
We play them in 2 yrs.
Gulp.

California now awake -- good player, can go S or CB and he is an EE

How does he fit at Texas: When he’s playing cornerback on film (he also plays receiver and quarterback) Jamier Johnson rarely moves at full speed because when he does he covers ground in a real hurry. He has a lanky frame that reminds of Curtis Brown or Mykkele Thompson and similar speed when he gets going. With his length and speed he’s an ideal prospect for cornerback and he doesn’t have the hesitation to get involved in the run game that you sometimes find with wiry guys that haven’t filled out yet. The ceiling here is as a boundary cornerback that can match up with big receivers in man coverage and is also nice to have within striking distance of the box. – Ian Boyd

Something on the GT - Dunn

" ....Listed at 6-foot-1, 192 pounds, Dunn originally hails from Oakdale, Louisiana and chose the Cowboys in the 2016 class.

Last season, Dunn recorded 42 tackles and 11 pass break ups. He also had five interceptions and earned first-team All-Southland honors. After redshirting in 2016, Dunn saw action in six games making two starts and recorded eight tackles. In 2019, Dunn really took off with 33 tackles, 2 interceptions, 2.5 tackles for loss and 1 sack. A speedster with legitimate track and field abilities, Dunn won the conference title in the 60-meter indoor hurdles. He’s flashed personal records of 7.89 in the 60-meter hurdles and a 7.56 in the 55-meter hurdles.

Dunn also competes in the long jump with a personal best of 24-feet, three inches. Dunn will be added to a roster with young talent at the cornerback position, and he should add some valued experience and athleticism to Jay Valai’s group. Dunn was already starting to earn acclaim in NFL Draft circles, and a move to the bigger stage should elevate the spotlight on him and increase his chances of being drafted higher. ..."

Since this stuff comes up every year

"1. They matter at the player level. Blue chips are almost 1,000 percent more likely to be drafted in the first round. You can see the star ratings drop throughout the NFL Draft. And five-stars are about 33 times as likely to be All-Americans as two-stars are.

2. They matter at the team level. Matt Hinton broke the country into five tiers of recruiting might, finding the higher-recruiting schools to consistently beat their lessers virtually across the board. Stewart Mandel:

Power 5 teams (of which there are 65) that consistently recruit Top 20 classes have a 60 percent chance of becoming a Top 20 program and a 35 percent chance of regularly inhabiting the Top 10.

By contrast, Power 5 teams that finish outside the Top 20 in recruiting have a lower than 18 percent chance of fielding Top 20 teams and just a 6.7 percent chance of reaching the Top 10......"

7 steps to proving recruiting rankings matter

Looking at the rankings, this class isn't that bad. 17th on 247 and on another site I looked at. 16 signed + Grad Transfer + 2 more commitments.

By the way, Mack has North Carolina in 12th place on one site. Just sayin... the man can recruit.
