2021 Recruiting - Football

It's a shame that the influence of a few, both from the distant past and currently, can destroy the rich tradition of singing an innocent song at a football game simply by making it seem something evil, a song no less.
Our opponents must be salivating but they will miss us.
I believe we will be at the level of Kansas or lower for the next twenty or thirty years. The sooner we change the song the sooner the longhorns will become contenders again. I'll be dead long before that happens. It was a nice run. Mack brown took us to the zenith of our goals.

To me, there is no way reconciliation can be had between keeping the eyes and getting the better recruits. They gonna go elsewhere and we know that recruiting is the lifeblood of a team.
Even Urban Meyer can't tackle this.
As they say all good things come to an end.

Sadly I think you are correct, I posted somewhere else we will will be the Indiana's and CU's of college football. It will free up my Saturday and my cash cause I won't have to donate, pay money for tickets, buy overprices merch anymore. What a **** up these players are, they had job connections, jobs, everything and threw it away. Those are all gone..

tell them they are released from their agreement team and can go elsewhere but, where can they go that offers them everything to succeed.....and how many of the elite programs will have a place for them to play.

They really messed up!!!!!!

22,

They will never succeed, because no one will ever take a chance in them after this. They personify “humped the puppy”

I mean, the team doesn't win now. Hasn't won squat for 11 years. Would be nice to stop chasing after the alleged top talent that never pans out here anyway. If we're not going to win, might as well do so with players that have better than 700 SAT's and top 93% of their class.

I agree Duck. If we are not going to do better than what we have been doing then give players the option, support the traditions or find someplace more to their liking. Poms expressed what I feel is inevitable. This is to the point that no one wins, instead the school (and the loyal fans) suffer.

Duck,

For some supporting football is a means of funding non revenue sports because they know without football, Title IX is dead, as are women’s sports and some men’s sports.

So let the puppets kill volleyball, women’s basketball, women’s swimming, rowing, softball, soccer and see how fast the **** hits the fan.

Football is evil and school traditions are evil, but give us our free education, four plus years of free meals and rent, and keep that laundry money coming, and then a cushy job when I’m through.

Good point Sabre, other sports are going to suffer due to the lack of donations and generated money. Maybe then leadership will take necessary action.

So it's win-win then?

It won't happen I know, but I'd love to see all athletes have to meet the same standards as normal students. You get admitted to Texas first, then we'll give you a scholarship.

The last addition to the football trophy case was Dec of 2009. How would it have been any different with the above?

I fully agree, this mess will be a huge detriment to the success in sports ans professions!

Just really curious how many of these kids will eventually realize what problems they have caused and seek to make things right, if they even understand that concept. In my life, our motto was to 'do things right' and if we messed up, make things right. Sure forms a solid foundation of living and character building.

I played for the Whitefaces with a small handful of blacks and more Hispanics...is that racist overtones.

Yes they did, and yes they have!

Yes they did. Prior to last spring, most of us alumni would help these guys out with job referrals and jobs if a former athlete graduated and called, emailed or otherwise contacted any one of us for assistance or advice. But now, following all the negativity piled and blamed on the fans, our University and so on, and I've posted this before, unless their name is Sam Ellinger, none of the current group should even bother making contact. This group has besmirched our traditions, belittled the fans, and the head coach has insulted each and every one of us. And quit whining because the stands aren't full!! I, for one, really don't want to make donations, buy tickets and support a group of malcontents that sees me and my fellow alumni as a flawed, disgusting, even racist people. They handled the situation poorly and now, they're on their own! And as far as making it to the NFL, that takes superior talent, which I've seen little of on a consistent basis. So, hopefully they stay in school and earn a degree. The vast majority are definitely going to need it.

So if the final four in the HS B-ball tourny was down to: the Whitefaces, the Irish, the Vikings, and the Scots, who would win? :idk:

On second thought, that might make for some pretty bad basketball.

I guarantee there would be a lawsuit with the fail-safe end result desired being an end to ALL sports and not just the women's sports. They'll go for mindless egalitarianism and if all women's sports are sacrificed then so go the men.

They do have federal law on their side

Chatter on other boards that JaTavion Sanders about to reopen his recruitment. This is about to get so much uglier.
