2021 NCAA tournament

What makes Coach Vic so elite is his ability to make adjustments during the game. When Maryland is getting easy baskets in transition, he makes an adjustment that stops that. When feeds to Charlie work, we push that but when they do not we take another route. So many coaches have one game plan against an opponent and that is what they use all game. Coach Frese and her team were very comfortable playing with a lead. They relied on the 3s to stretch the lead. When that is not working, they did not really make adjustments. We pressed them and they did not know how to react. Some of their fouls at the end of our clock were very surprising.

The play in last night's game which almost made me lose my mind was when we were down 57-59 with 80 seconds left in the game. Vic calls timeout; Kyra inbounds the ball at midcourt to Celeste who is quickly triple-teamed by Maryland. Ebo, Collier, and Allen-Taylor made no effort to leave the paint in order to come help Celeste avoid a 5-second call. Celeste tries to lob the ball back to Kyra, but it is deflected a Maryland player but back into Celeste's hands. Luckily, Celeste got the ball back to Kyra and avoided a costly turnover before she nailed the clutch jumper in front of Owusu to tie the ball game.

No need to worry about beating UConn or Baylor at the moment; our team will relish the opportunity to play either one of them if we beat South Carolina on Tuesday night to advance to our first Final Four since 2003.
I also believe we would get the the Stanford/Louisville winner

Golf was great today....but now enjoying the replay on ESPNU. Easier now since know the outcome. I also thought the officiating was outstanding. There will always be something you don’t agree with. The game was bigger than the refs and that is a great outcome.

I know we DO knock the refs, but with Kantner there in charge, I knew she’d call a good game, and she even overturned a bad call!

Dawn Staley is going to be on the Paul Finebaum Show (SEC Network) at 5:00 today. He has a great show that I often watch/listen to. Great historical knowledge of college sport’s.

Observation... last night when the game ended and after Vic and the players had celebrated and thanked the fans... I'm almost sure I saw Kathy Harston approach Vic down on the floor with open arms and give him the biggest congratulatory hug. Of course I don't know for sure becaue of the mask, so it may not have been her. If so that was an awesome thing to see and indicates the level of acceptance of this staff by those with long, close ties to the program.

Love to see UConn complaining about Baylor being in their bracket. Baylor lost some games this year and that is why they are a 2 seed.

"I just can't believe that we're playing Baylor in the final eight if we're a No. 1 seed, and supposedly we were the number two No. 1," Auriemma said. "You mean to tell me Baylor is No. 7 [overall]? Somebody got that wrong, if you ask me."

I saw the same thing, pretty sure that was Kathy.

Yes, that was Kathy. The best part of that was Vic, an Aggie, throwing those Horns Up! You know Aggie fan is going crazy about it!

He always seemed very complimentary/on good terms with Karen. Could be some history between him and Vic - his last 3 years at Georgia overlapped with Vic's first 3 at MSU. He was 1-3 against Vic and that was before Vic really got Miss St going.

And I remember Pat Summitt saying one time “Boy, Andy Landers doesn’t hug me like he does Coach Conradt”...HA!! He LOVED Texas back then (as a Coach), and was very friendly on a trip to the FEC (as an announcer) when Karen was there. So, I think y’all are on to something re: Andy vs Vic...guess there might be some “feelings”..?

Certainly agree about Lobo & Ryan. Lobo is my favorite. I miss Kara Lawson’s commentary these days.
Lobo is SO UConn biased, did nothing but talk about UConn during our game, when they weren’t even playing...boo...NOT a Lobo fan!

Want a little cheese with your “whine”, Coach Auriemma?? :puke:

I am strongly for Baylor in this game. Love the underdog and with UConn they are the underdog. Don't normally like Baylor, but they do represent our conference (along with us) and who wants UConn to win their 12th championship?

I can’t stand Kim Mulkey, and I want Baylor to lose every game they play. I think she’s a dirty recruiter. I used to not like Auriemma, but I’ve come around on him, and that little freshman they’ve got is an amazing baller.

I used to like Baylor, my daddy being an alum. However, I will never be for Baylor as long as Mulkey is the coach. The men's team, yes, along with UH.

So my question is, do we root for UCONN or Baylor tonight? Im leaning UCONN.
Easy. UConn. Mulkey is trash. The things she has said and done while representing that school are deplorable. Geno has mellowed over the years, but Mulkey is trash and will always be trash. Here is a video reminder...

144 but honestly we were spread out over 7 or 8 sections last night completely surrounding the Maryland fans.
Yeah it was bad. I had two tickets and they sat us literally side by side next to two other Maryland fans. I definitely had to move my seats because I knew it was going to be problems due to the amount of yelling I do at games. Luckily there were plenty of open seats throughout the arena
