2021 NCAA tournament

Carrington was practically knocked to the ground on that last shot, no call. BU would likely have won if called correctly
Problem is they were letting stuff like that go the whole game, so you don't call it differently in the final seconds.

It was a lousy possession by Baylor all around. 3 players standing around non-threateningly, a pick and roll with a very halfhearted roll, and a player determined to shoot a hero fadeaway over a double team. They didn't deserve to be bailed out of that one.

I realize Carrington had the hot hand for some of the game, but in that situation you go to Smith, your All American. Especially when she was CALLING for the ball the possession before that. JMO.

Mulkey is indeed a hag. I was doing some work in Waco in the middle of the Briles crap and her comments and actions surrounding the investigation and findings were downright disgusting. I really didn’t care one way or the other about Baylor until then and from that point on they rank only behind the sheep f*****s in College Station as far as schools I despise. Glad UConn took them, and her, down.

I don’t see the noncall as a controversy. If so, the controversy would be how it wasn’t called for the first 39 minutes of the game. Oh well it gives you know who an excuse and the us against the world status she craves.

Glad they lost. I don’t think them winning really helps the conference any more than UCONN helps whatever conference they’re in these days. I would think a West Virginia, Iowa St, OK State etc (after Texas of course) does help and I would cheer them on. Not Baylor. Not for their coach and fan base. I can’t be talked out of that.

Her son’s a douche canoe as well. I went to catch a game that year at their ballpark when the Horns came up to Waco for a baseball series and he was an infielder. Typical entitled, **** eatin grinning, long hair, bleached blond, puka shell necklace wearing *** hat you’d expect from a Mulkey kid.

I would have loved to see UConn's streak of like 15 Sweet Sixteen's come to an end, but if Baylor would have won tonight, they'd probably have no problem advancing to the final if the can beat the Indiana/Arizona winner. On the other hand, this was UConn's least experienced team in a while; they'll be even harder to beat next season and in the immediate future based on their recruit additions.

After like 15 years, glad we are FINALLY left standing in the NCAA tournament longer than Baylor by at least one day! :p

Pretty sure her son played baseball at LSU; the TV cameras often showed Mulkey in the stands in Baton Rouge.

You know what, you’re right. My bad - in my hatred I got that mixed up.

Maybe I need to let that anger go...
:whiteflag:

The game was lost when they were up by 9 in the 3rd and they let UConn get back in the game so easily. Baylor can shoot and play even when Richards is out. But they simply gave up too easily. If you let UConn hang around, they will beat you. And this is not the dominant team they normally have.

After hearing what Mulkey said to that reporter who simply asked a question, their loss makes me even more happy. She snapped on the reporter for absolutely no reason.

She snapped on the reporter for absolutely no reason and I'm not the one to attack anyone for looks but I have to say it.... Mulkey is aging very poorly. Never saw her close up until that interview and my goodness:eek:
I was pulling for UConn but that was absolutely a foul at the end of the game... Mulkey had some serious health issues a few years ago....Bells Palsy....and it has taken a toll on her appearance....

I understand you don't like Mulkey, but you can root for Drew?

They are the same ilk, except maybe Drews's cheating is more blatant

There were a lot of fouls which weren't called tonight when a player was jump-shooting. The non-call at the end of the game was the same non-call at the other end of the court, especially in the fourth quarter.

Wow! The presser was......wow! It may be the Bells Palsy. It may be gin. Wow. WTF was up with the mask and grabbing her phone to tells us she had both video and still pictures of two fouls on the play? I was sure Rudy Giuliani was about to jump on the dais.

If you want to win the damn game, don't give up a 19-0 run. Make a stop. Just one. Hit a basket. Just one. But you give up 36% of their TOTAL scoring for the game in one run? And you are seriously going to ***** about one mugging at the end of the game?

Can you imagine ANY coach we have ever had acting like that? Jody? Gail? Karen? Vic? Hell ANY coach in ANY sport? Ok kids, I'm done. Got to go watch that a few more times.

HOOK EM!

I'm not crazy about Kim either, but nonetheless that was a bad foul on Carrington. Of course there random bad calls throughout the game. But that was a game decider and I think the refs didn't call it under the principal of "letting the players decide in the last minute," which I've never agreed with. Or else it was just more of their lousy reffing. I'm not crazy about Kim, but I am certainly not crazy about Geno either. The hatred of Kim on this board is a little over the top for my taste. I think she and Vic will good rivals.

Vic is already on record about how he feels about Baylor fans and the program they represent. She is the head of that program.

Kim gets what she dishes out which is why she is covered in ***t most of the time. From harassing players on opposing teams to suggesting that people who were upset by the Baylor rape scandals should be punched in the face... Mulkey is trash. She has the means to rise above her upbringing but she chooses to remain small-minded and ignorant.

Glad to be wrong again. And don’t think that Geno being on the other side didn’t influence that non call. Kim Mulkey couldn’t bully the refs like she does every game with Geno on the other end.

The officiating crew allowed that type of contact consistently the entire game. Therefore it was an appropriate no call. The question is why is KM so pissed off? She knows that refs definitely should remain consistent in the way the game is being called throughout... All the way to the end. In fact, years ago Baylor got eliminated on a foul call that went against them in the final seconds. I distinctly remember her raising hell and complaining in the media "You don't make that call at that moment!"

As Jody Conradt was fond of saying “You only have yourself to blame that you were in a position that the game could be decided by the refs.”

Expecting perfection from the refs might be what fans crave, but it’s not a game plan and every coach knows that.

As Jody Conradt was fond of saying “You only have yourself to blame that you were in a position that the game could be decided by the refs.”

Shaka essentially lost his job on the foul shots made by Abilene Christian. He did not blame the refs. The game was lost when Baylor put itself in the position that it had to make the last shot. Kim knows the refs won't make a call in this game against Geno. Especially when they called the entire game the other way. I thought that criticism of refs would lead to a big fine.

Another complaint was the #2 ranking. Baylor losses to Arkansas and Iowa State and missing all those games against ranked opponents made them a 2 seed. If you play those games, and win, you are a #1. If you do not play those games and go undefeated, you are a #1. The Kim Mulkey smell test is rotten. We are not going to rank teams #1 by smell.

The third complaint was the injury to Williams. No one wants to see a player get hurt. Nneka suffered a season ending injury against Baylor and that turned the game against Texas. Injuries happen. Baylor has the talent to win.

I do not think this community is commenting on Kim's facial expression or looks. It is the words, the anger, and the whine that calls into question the class of the program. As someone said, any team that gives up a 19 point run does not deserve to win.

One last post about Mulkey and then I’ll stop. My apologies in advance. for the length of this post. If you are tired of the Mulkey bashing, scroll on by.

Earlier in this thread I posted a video of Kim verbally s**t-talking to our players while they were on the court in Waco. It was the final minute of a game that Baylor was winning by 20 points. A coach, the adult, the head of the program trash talked to young women on the opposing team and then proceeds to do it again as they did the congratulations line at the end of the game. She actually grabbed our player by the back of the neck to make sure she got her final
insults in. Our player pulls away disgusted.

A year or so later, Baylor (the private Christian school) is trying to recover from a horrendous sexual assault scandal and cover-up and Mulkey tells people if anyone says anything bad about how Baylor handled that scandal, well you should just punch that person in the face.

Baylor's Mulkey Tired Of Hearing Sex Assault Allegations, Wants Critics Knocked 'Right In The Face'

Arguably her best and most famous player, Brittany Griner reported that she was open about her sexuality during the recruiting process and Mulkey said it wouldn’t be a problem. Then once Griner arrived on campus Mulkey told her that it was in fact a problem and she needed to stay in the
closet.

Earlier this season Mulkey contracted COVID, said it was not good and was disappointed that the NCAA was putting money before the health and safety of students and staff. Tonight she told the press that the NCAA should stop COVID testing and just let the kids play. Because I guess now getting players and coaches sick is ok?

Baylor's Mulkey: 'Dump' COVID testing for Final 4

When asked about the foul at the end of the game she said she had photographic evidence. Who gives a crap, Kim. You’re the adult representing the sport. Your answer should be “Sometimes the calls don’t go your way but we all are playing the same game and sometimes it’s not perfect. That’s sports.”

Mulkey is a good coach but a bad leader. She might be a nice enough person for all I know, but she is a terrible role model. Rather than growing and enriching herself from all the success she’s had, she wallows in poor sportsmanship and sour grapes. You can act, say or do anything you want as long as you win. We’ve all been to the games. We’ve seen her antics. We’ve experienced the Baylor fans. As the saying goes, s**t rolls down hill. She’s at the top of that hill. They have about as much class as they have full sets of teeth.

I can give you a long list of former players from various programs who have gone on to become great ambassadors for the sport, role models for young women, broadcasters, coaches, etc. Funny - not a single former player from Kim’s Baylor program comes to mind.

As a parent, I would never entrust my child’s education and well being with that woman. And I have no doubt If she were to read this, she would say that somebody needs to punch me in the face for writing it.

Her remarkable track record in the scorebooks is impressive. Her remarkable lack of integrity and decency far outweighs those wins.
