2021 NCAA tournament

You guys have no idea how much crap I endured this past week at work about this game. Watch..everyone will claim they were asleep and didn't see it...lol
 
1. 100 points my ***! They wouldn't have even scored 60 if we hadn't GIVEN them the last two.
2. That balance in the box score is beautiful. Great team effort!
3. We out shot them from the floor and from long range, and out rebounded them in spite of their obvious size advantage. That defense did its thing!
4. Anybody on here still got their *** in a crack over the hiring of this staff? Asking for myself.

Have to admit I thought Texas overpaid for Schaefer but this last week has shown he is worth every penny and I honestly believe he will bring an NC to Texas in next five years. :hookem:

Whether it's Vic or the staff he brought with him, last year's players Allen-Taylor, Taylor, Collier & Warren have all shown a lot of improvement over last season. And as Lobo pointed out, showed a lot of discipline in carrying out Vic's game plan. And you can tell in Vic's press conferences how deeply he cares for the players. I liked the hire when they brought him on, and I love the hire now!
 
A week ago I predicted here beating Maryland but the fairy tail ending with SC. I want to take that back now. I’m not satisfied. Beat SC!
 
What an amazing display of heart and grit by our team. Some of the Maryland players began to look like they were in shock sometime during the third quarter and only got worse as the game went on. It seemed as if they did not know how to play in a game that was a real fight to the finish.

Vic's goal is to hold the other team to 60. We did that, and we won. So nice to hear the talking heads grudgingly acknowledge that our team had a plan and executed.

Will be looking forward to that presser. Also, how the locker room follows up with the celebration after the UCLA game. I thought we were only slight underdogs to UCLA, but very few thought we could keep up with Maryland.
 
This team could have folded several times. Late when we turned it over, gave up a layup.and block which turned into a 4 point play and deficit. Then when it was tied and ball hit edge of goal and bounded to Maryland for layup and 2 point lead for Maryland. But they NEVER folded. Maryland was rattled from 3RD period on. They lost some composure. We got tougher.
 
WE HAVE COACH VIC and you don't! I'm so flipping excited. Really thinking about heading down 35 Tuesday for the game. I'll be there Friday for the final 4 but OMG I want to be there Tuesday too! :lmao:Might need to use my sick time.
 
When they showed Freese smirking on sidelines late with her tongue sticking out.....I wanted so bad to come back and wipe that look away. The ladies did. I’m happy.
 
Yes flash, I agree that our discipline to stick with the game plan, coupled with its effectiveness against Maryland's flash and dash offense, led to our ladies becoming more confident as the game wore on while it also had the opposite effect on the Maryland players.

That we showed that much faith and discipline implementing Vic's gameplan speaks to several very important ideas. First, it shows that Vic had a detailed, executable gameplan to begin with. Second, that the underlying principles of the plan have been taught consistently all season. And third, that our team believes in Vic and in the plan to such an extent that not once during the entire game did we deviate (taking poor shots early in the clock, etc) from it.

If that is what Vic can do in his first year for a team that was pretty undisciplined on offense in the recent past, then I cannot wait to see what happens in year 2,3,4...
 
Sangre.....great points. He has great kids that believe in him....and vice versa. Although I keep wanting to say ...”wait till he gets more players in here next few years”....it can’t get more fun than this. If it does, my heart won’t survive. Hope the ladies can keep it going.
 
Anybody know where to see post game pressers? ESPN showed a blurb of Taylor at podium but can’t find full one. Want to hear what Freese had to say. Also I want to hear the old Georgia coach Andy Landers but they never showed him at the end. Lots of experts going to eat crow.
 
When you play defense like that and only have ten turnovers, you have a chance to beat any team in America. Maryland was not over rated.
