Yep, I guess with Aneesha being named on the second team, she will be a lock for national freshman of the year.

And she had great individual stats while her team took an ***-kicking.
Not sure the individual stats were all that "great" when you look at percentages and take into consideration how many times the Dayton defenders blocked her shot. Look, she's a really good young talent... but second-team AA is a joke IMO especially when you look at those on third-team and honorable mention with consideration given to the respective conferences in which they play.

As Vic has stated, if you look deeper than just stats the picture is much clearer. If I shoot 15-20 times per game in the paint then I should score a lot of points. Again, not taking anything away from the player but...

I watched the game and can’t say I was all that impressed but I admit it’s the only time I’ve watched her play and her team was abysmal last night (she was 9 of 25 and 17 rebounds for the game) shooting 27%.

I’d pick Rori first in a pickup game

I freely admit to looking only at her post-game stat line, and I recognize the inherent weaknesses in so doing. Her numbers just jumped out compared to every other player on her team.

I do not mean to impute those numbers towards any post-season honors or comparisons to other players like Rori.

Thanks for the list Mooo and your observations. I am surprised Madi Williams is not an honorable mention.

I’m on record here that I believe Texas overachieved last season and my hope was the Elite Eight this year. The rest is gravy in my book. Won’t be long we’ll all expect Final Fours.

Don’t get me wrong, I think this team has what it takes to keep going and my bracket reflects that.

I thought it would be interesting to review what these eyes saw in the team scrimmage in October compared to what we see today with another Elite Eight in the bag. Back then, none of us had seen any of the newcomers on a college court.

Everyone is playing.

Best player: Joanne
Best shooter: Joanne
Most likely not to return next year: Joanne
Player I would most like to return next year: Joanne

B12 FOY: If it's not A. Moore, my hat's off to the player who beats her. I would like to compare her robust physique and her physical game to a former player for clarity, but we have not had a front-court player of her quality....period. A total handful with the ball in her hands when she drives to the basket.

Quickest: Rori. If you want scoring out of your PG, you'll go with Rori. Give her 25 minutes with 15 for Ashley. Rori was having trouble with cramps in both legs in the 2nd half in the hamstring area, but nobody seemed to be concerned.

There will be so many contributors on this team...an embarrassment of riches, especially compared to last year.

P.S. edit: With all due respect to Lauren, who will get plenty of minutes, Moore and Gaston sharing the front court will be difficult to defend. And Lauren is more polished than anytime last year.

P.P.S. edit: If you were designing a post player from scratch, you would end up with Femme. Tallest player on team and Goldilocks physique: not too trim and not too robust. Needs a bit more time to develop skills.

Just based on what you saw today what would be your prediction of the starting 5?

I think the spirit of your question is who will start for Stanford (11/14), as opposed to Oklahoma Baptist (11/4). In that case I would guess:
Rori
Joanne
Aaliyah
Lauren
Deyona/Audrey

Btw, Kobe and Aliyah bring some 3-pt range, as does Kyndall. Aliyah played some PG and looked good doing it.

Latasha needs a bit of time to adjust to the speed of the college game, but she can move. She and Deyona both wear a knee brace. Latasha is tall, but not robust.

Ashley Chevalier is the only person I haven’t seen anyone comment on?? Anybody?

Ashley will provide very valuable minutes.

Rori has "it".
