How many longhorns did it take to wash that down?

Back to the podcast, they added we will keep recruiting both Lathan Ransom and Chris Thompson, Jr. They think there's at least a chance one flips. Naivar won’t give up on but our depth chart hurts UT at this position since we are already so stacked.
If we win conference and LSU, I hope both realize there is only one DBU. Ooops. Thompson I am not so concerned about. Ransom and Ringo are far higher priorities.

Day and Smart are blowing smoke.

I knew I would miss one, but here I apparently missed three
Thanks and edited. But I did at least get to correct your spelling of Charlie. Come on Sabre!
Cant wait for the guys from the 1930s
Don't forget Earl Campbell and Steve and Tim Campbell as well as Coach Mike Campbell's sons Mike and Tom Campbell...then there was Stan Mauldin Jr and Dan Mauldin as well as Coach Willie Zapalac's sons Bill and Jeff...also David, Marvin, and Paul Kristynik

I believe the plan was 2 CBs this class. So I dont know what that might mean for Rogers once the distance becomes a big deal. We will see.

Inside Texas disagrees on the number. They think we will take 3 CBs. Outside Ringo/Rogers (as mentioned above) I dont know about that. But we will see. They also think Eaton is still a take, even after Pouncey. We will see.

"Earlier this week Texas landed Ethan Pouncey at cornerback. The four-star surprised everyone by making the call this early. Initially he was going to take all of his official visits with UT being last. According to him his best relationships besides Texas were with Florida, Auburn, and Alabama. After Texas missed on Jahari Rogers they amped up pursuit of Pouncey, a player the coaches always felt they could get. That confidence bore out.

We were thinking they'd be done at corner barring a super blue-chip but that isn't the case. The number at corner is definitely three. It's very possible they didn't take a corner in the 2019 class -- Kenyatta Watson may grow into a nickel (though he's impressing at corner now) and Marques Caldwell may be a safety long-term. This is a solid reminder numbers within classes are always in flux.

Already in the fold are Kitan Crawford and Ethan Pouncey, leaving one spot open at corner. The number is also three at safety, counting the need at nickel.

Texas looks good for Lufkin's Jerrin Thompson. The four-star fits nickel quite well and that need could be filled as early as this weekend. Okay, looking good at nickel, a hard position to fill.

They're still going to work on Chris Thompson and Bryson Washington. Both are going to be very difficult to flip, and they know that, which has them pushing for Xavion Alford. We're on about our third iteration of a UT/A&M battle for Alford after he flirted heavily with LSU and then Alabama.

Alford of course is good friends with corner Joshua Eaton. Eaton has tons of athletic upside but is very raw. They would take both with Alford at field safety and Eaton as CB3. Where it gets tricky is, to land Alford they may have to push for Eaton ASAP. Right now A&M is the smart money for Xavion while the Aggies, like UT, is looking at other corner options in addition to Eaton. Recall the David Gbenda recruitment (which is going to reward UT big time) and we said the first school to push hard for him would land him. Same situation with Eaton.

There's also the slight possibility Jerrin Thompson could end up at field safety with Kitan Crawford at nickel should corners be easier to find than safeties. That's only ideal if they find an all-world corner, the type that's very likely to end up at Georgia. That isn't Eaton. ...."

What an enviable position to be in regarding recruits but wasn't long ago we were tanking pretty bad; hello CS......think Aggies are especially concerned even with their trillion $$ coach......he won't last!!

Never hurts to steal a deep East Texas guy. Strange not to see ou and aggy on the list.
It’s great to take one of the best players in small town East Texas no doubt—especially Lufkin where I can’t remember us getting a player from before. While we’ve done well (both recently and historically) in the golden triangle, the Southern part of East Texas outside the golden triangle has historically been one of the strongest areas for aTm support. Even these days, driving the country roads around places like Lufkin, Jasper, Livingston, Crockett, Diboll, etc, you’ll see a lot higher % of aTm bumper stickers on vehicles than in most parts of Texas. Lufkin is in the very heart of what the ags historically thought of as their turf.

But always remember, we’re Texas. As Cyrus once said “It’s all our turf!”

In recruiting, we don’t cede one square inch of this great State to anyone.
