2020 Recruiting - Football

A commitment kind of out of nowhere, especially since he is due to OV next month. He is the real deal -- a true CB. He has the hips, the speed, the ability and the size to be an actual lock down CB. This is very good news.

I like his tenacity. Read the QB well. He's got good football instincts, good speed. Looks good to me. I'm sure he will redshirt to beef up.

Also probably means we are done at CB for 2020 (exception for Ringo of course) - so no Eaton

Movin on up. We are on the tail of teams with more commits, and have the higher avg player score (behind only Clemson on this). I think a commit from either Jerrin Thompson or Ty Jordan (who is due for a bump) would vault us over aggy. Adding Thompson + Jordan + Alfred Collins + Quentin Johnston would put us tied for #5 (with Georgia).

LC,

I missed that first time through. Really sorry to hear that news. Tell him to hang in there, do what he's told, and be patient. We're all pulling for him and sending prayers up for him.

Who else are we still pursuing for LB in this class? Dorbah is a stud, but we need more than one...

Sounds like we backed off of Scott (told him ‘there’s not enough room’ for him) and he’s headed for KU.

It's certainly interesting we told Scoot we don't have room when LB is our biggest need (3-4) and most of the top LB's are committed elsewhere. I guess the coaching staff knows something we don't know.

I took the "we don't have room" as a nicer way of saying "your skill set is not what we're looking for..." In other words, he lacks the ability to play our LB positions in our defense (but he might be very good in another defense).

Other possibilities could be that we brought in enough JC LBs to give us depth for a few years, and we'll load up in 2021? Who knows?

Lacks the lateral mobility we must have. Hip flex

Hmmmmm. What could possibly account for UNC's rise to the top 10 in football recruiting...?

A commitment kind of out of nowhere, especially since he is due to OV next month (although he did UOV in early July). He is the real deal -- a true CB. He has the hips, the speed, the ability and the size to be an actual lock down CB. So this is very good news.

Rankings-wise, he is the #10 CB nationally in the 247Comp. 247 has him as the #7 CB and just inside their top 100, while ESPN has him just outside their top 100 (#103 overall). But Rivals has him lower which is what pulls the overall 247Comp down a little.

Must be another case of Fake News. As stated by LSUson in the On the Field Forum the only real CB's go to LSU.

It's too bad we missed out on Ringo, he is the most NFL ready high school player I have seen since maybe Adrian Peterson.

Word is he is already working out with NFL guys and could likely start for a few teams. Honestly, college is a waste of time for him.
