"The patented Vernon Broughton non-update updates are all the rage on the internet right now so I figured I'd change it up a bit and give you a non-update update with a little more substance.

Vernon Broughton is clearly nearing his long anticipated decision. This one has gone by the book according to his mother's public sentiments: five officials and then a July announcement so she can focus on her daughter's basketball schedule. She's in Chicago with her daughter currently doing just that. That tells me an announcement won't happen immediately because Vernon isn't going to pull the trigger in her absence.

I think, but don't know for certain, that a decision has been made. If a school knows the decision they're being coy about it. Texas has this ability as we saw with the Bru McCoy situation. If A&M knew something it would probably filter to TexAgs and it hasn't. I've detected a pulse or two that makes me wonder if Arkansas is truly out of it. I can't rule them out entirely but I still think they're highly unlikely. Still, before last night I would have said they were dead in the water but I can't quite say that right now. I think a public announcement could come as soon as this week, maybe on a Friday like December 19th, 2014.

This is Malik Jefferson's recruitment all over again, at least so far, right down to the player in question being a long-term UT lean, only to give up the lead late and have to claw to hold on. Texas is Texas with Tom Herman in place of Charlie Strong, A&M is A&M with Jimbo Fisher in place of Kevin Sumlin and Mike Elko in place of thin air, and Arkansas is UCLA, the team trying to play spoiler from afar. Ohio State is trying to play spoiler as well, but I've only heard minor credible sentiments regarding their chances (namely because of scheme)...."​

Yeah I have no idea what he is going to do. Last time I looked, mom's twitter bio had aggy stuff on it. And the majority of the gurus still say we are in 3rd with him behind aggy and then tOSU. However, we at least still have 247's Mike Roach who says he is sticking with his Texas CB. Thankfully it will end soon. And, in any event, Alfred Collins may be the more crucial 2020 DL take for us.
 
I think Vernon was testing Momma’s limits when flirting with Aggie. Sort of like dating the girl across the tracks. Momma has too much sense to let Vernon marry down.
 
247 says ATH/CB Jahari Rogers (Arlington High) has been talking to Coach Washington and should announce this month.
Seems to be down to us and Florida, unless Alabama makes another push.
The CBs lean Texas (60%)
 
According to Orangebloods, he was in Austin showing a family member around campus. Cannot meet with any coaches as its still the dead period (and so most or all of them are out of town now anyway).

Herman and Co. are doing well....Where ever these guys commit to at this time makes little difference aside from causing dominoes to fall. The outcome of the season will cause many who are not 110% sure ( just love the school or have emotional connections ) to re-evaluate and de-commit if said school has a disappointing season. Most of these kids are all about WINNING and getting to the NFL. The school's sale pitch may get them to commit now, but the results on the field will be the ticket. Herman just needs to SHOW recruits he HAS turned the corner, and Sam was right about "We're Baaaaaack. "Win the Big 12 and Texas should get err body they want.
 
OB now says their level of confidence Broughton is "very high."

However, at about the same time, aggy Hamm said Broughton is going full aggy
