Bijan Robinson has been in contact tOSU, plus other schools
(The mom) said a number of schools have been in contact with Bijan, including, yes, Ohio State. She also said Alabama, LSU and USC are in contact. She couldn’t recall all the schools that are in touch with him but did mention those specific schools.
Robinson’s mother said that the contact has been less of an attempt to try to convince Bijan to reconsider their school and more of the coaches staying in touch with him on a regular basis (which we all know is them lying in wait). So, the bottom line is Ohio State and others are indeed still recruiting Bijan.
But how much of an effect is it having? His mother described things with Texas as “steady”. She said that they didn’t make their decision to pick Texas just because of their potential to win games. She says for them and Bijan, it was more than that. So, the fact that the season hasn’t been what was expected, she noted has had little to no effect on them.
The sense I got is they are solid, at the moment. She did say there are schools like LSU trying to get Bijan on an official visit. She didn’t rule out the possibility of it happening but she was skeptical that it would. I just didn’t get the sense that they are really looking to reopen things up to new schools. Again, she didn’t say there is no chance they won’t take their final two official visits but she did make it sound unlikely.
I mentioned fairly recently that there has been some negative recruiting coming from inside the building at Texas. Towards the end of our conversation, she did mention that Bijan has received some of that. She didn’t go into who said what but she did note that he’s heard rumblings and it sounded like it was coming from kids. I don’t know if that’s from current players or from recruits or even other coaches.

Synopsis: The drama queens are being seperated from the players. Players are more important. Carry on.Here is part of "Eyes of Texas" on Pouncey -- it's Chip Brown so .....
Working on Relationships, Intel on Pouncey's
" .... A (TCU) win might’ve quieted the murmurs of discord inside the Texas locker room, according to sources, that appeared to be occurring between older and younger players. Sophomore receiver Brennan Eagles was suspended ... after allegedly airing some grievances about inconsistency in the way some players are being treated by Herman. ... Jordan Pouncey entered the transfer portal ... the same day his younger brother Ethan ... de-committed ...
Last week, recruits Princely Umanmielen... and Joshua Eaton... de-committed after offensive lineman Javonne Shepherd entered the transfer portal. There’s rumbling of more drama to come in terms of the portal and/or possible de-commitments. Tom Herman’s tough love culture isn’t for everyone. In fact, he tells recruits during the recruiting process not to expect him to be their friend.
Herman acknowledged after practice on Wednesday, however, he and his players had a “heart-to-heart team meeting Tuesday” in an effort to work on “relationships.” "We’ve got a lot of older veterans and lot of young guys and we’ve got to find some of those bridge guys from the older group to the younger group,” Herman said. “Last year, when Andrew Beck spoke, people listened, and one of the reasons why was we had a sophomore named Sam Ehlinger who could relate to the older guys. Right now, we’re talking to Joseph Ossai, Keaontay Ingram, Keondre Coburn, Junior Angilau - those kind of guys - to make sure we bridge that gap and the younger guys have the same sense of urgency as the older guys.”
So how was all of that received? “It’s been positive,” Herman said. “There’s been a ton of accountability. Human nature, when you don’t get the outcome you desire, is to blame others, complain about your circumstances and defend yourself. Blame, complain, defend. We had a good heart-to-heart team meeting on Tuesday about how we can’t have that. You have to fight human nature. If you want the outcome to change, you have to change your response. The old adage is, ‘Keep doing what you’re doing, and keep getting what you’ve got.’ So we have to crank the sense of urgency up for some and the attention to detail for some others. But I think they are very keenly aware there’s a lot of football left to be played.”
Herman said everyone in the program understands “we have not performed to our standards the last few weeks but still have plenty of football left to play. Our backs are against the wall or on the ropes — however you want to say it — and we’ll find out what kind of fighters we have. I think Malcolm Roach said it best after the game: ‘The only thing we’ve trained for is to come together and fight.’ We’ve got to get better fundamentally, schematically, get better as coaches and punch our way off the ropes. I really love the energy we’ve had at practice.”

Herman often serves as the crazy-eyed drill sergeant for his tough-love culture while having assistant coaches serve as the shoulders for players to lean on in tough times. That formula will always be tested in times of adversity like the 5-3 Longhorns are experiencing now after losing two of their last three. Actions, of course, speak louder than words. And until Texas can get back on the field Nov. 9 against Kansas State, Longhorns’ fans are hoping any more transfer portal news or word of recruits de-committing quiets down and the winning resumes. If that news doesn’t quiet down, there may be more to this story than players struggling to get through a rough patch of the season with a severe case of blame, complain and defend.

Something from Inside Texas on Jaqwondis Burns
‘20 IMG Academy (FL) LB, Ole Miss commit Jaqwondis Burns... Burns was pleasantly surprised with an offer from Texas on Tuesday. The 6-foot-3, 200-pounder burst on the scene during UA and Opening regional camps and committed to Ole Miss last spring.Fridays in the Humidor - 10/4/19 - Inside Texas
Texas co-DC Todd Orlando was in Bradenton, FL last Friday to see the three-star 'backer. UT has shown a renewed interest with Burns, and Jaqwondis is willing to listen.
“(Coach Orlando) and I were chopping it up about my games and my fit,” said Burns. “I always consider every opportunity. Just have to talk with my family.”
You could say Burns is a soft pledge to the SEC Rebels.
“Texas is a great university, both academically and athletically,” Burns said. “They have a unique culture that not every program in the country has.”
He wants to setup a visit soon, so it’ll be interesting how UT handles this recruitment. His “little” brother is 2022 Dallas Skyline DL Bear Alexander. Texas is squarely in the mix here.
More Burns
The latest: Burns is a new name on Texas’ radar; he picked up an offer on Wednesday. The three-star outside linebacker pledged to Ole Miss back in April. Herman’s staff wouldn’t have extended an offer to Burns unless the Longhorns felt like they have a shot at flipping him. Burns is a Texas native who was a first-team all-district selection at Terrell as a junior. The Dotted Line: Three prospects Texas hopes to add to the 2020 recruiting class | Hookem.com
