2020 Recruiting - Football

Rumors do not count, especially for a guy who always wanted to play for Texas.
Have to agree on this one that its BS. blowu signed a 5 star qb last year in rattler and have another one from GA committed to this year. Couple that with he always wanted to play for UT. If herman doesnt change DC this year and adjust recruiting to get studs at LB and DT, he will feel the heat after this year. Blitzing with slow guys who are not on the line doesnt work and just adds to the d woes. Last in the big12 for d sucks and will not bring in upper tier defensive players. We have 40 WR who get little to no playing time and 35 DB's. Enough already, recruit SPEEEEED.

Sounds like DE Alfred Collins will also be at the game

Tom Herman and Oscar Giles were at Bastrop Cedar Creek this morning to see priority defensive end Alfred Collins. They also took the time to talk with some teachers.

ps - FWIW, aggy's highest ranked commit 5-star Demond Demas is visiting ou

From Inside Texas -- (Nov 29 is TTU game) -- Ive seen some good comments on Miller

Looking ahead, Texas will host two interesting prospects on 11/29: Tyler Junior College OLB/DE Maureesee Wren and Mt. Enterprise (TX) ATH Kendre Miller.

Wren, a former La Tech WR signee, could be attrition insurance, while Miller has recently caught the attention of schools like Texas, TCU, Oklahoma State, and Baylor.

Miller is one of the nation’s leading rushers, with over 2,500 yards on the ground through Week 10. At 6-foot, 205, he looks like an inside LB at the next level.

Both are certainly ones to monitor heading down the final stretch.

Speaking of Karic, he is a 4-sar with 247 now -- and up to #163 overall

Andrej Karic, OT, Texas commit - Karic entered this season as a developmental offensive line prospect with good feet and room to grow from a size and strength perspective. He's made that jump, turning in some of the more impressive senior video we've seen along the offensive line thus far. Karic plays left tackle for one of the state of Texas' top high school teams and could project at multiple spots along the offensive line. His feet and physicality at the point of attack make him a devastating run blocker at the second level. Karic's continued size and strength gains are showing up, as he plays with heavy hands and regularly stuns opposing defensive linemen with his punch. He's also holding up in pass protection, doing a nice job as a left tackle. We'll get an extended in-person look at the Texas pledge during the all-star circuit, but his senior video and continued improvement is worthy of a move into the Top247

Four-star Friday: ACC commits, offensive tackles and tight ends

Wow, if I had to pick an all star game to go to, I'm picking the Polynesian Bowl. Let me think about it. Go to San Antonio, Orlando or Hawaii? What a hard choice.

A number of us on this site have been saying for a long time that he’s the best of our OL prospects, and it’s laughable that he was rated 3*. Watch his film. In fact, he’s the best OL prospect in Texas, and has been so since last year. It’s good to see the name brand rating services finally seeing his enormous talent. I suspect the ratings services downgraded him mostly based on old out of date weight measurements. The film doesn’t lie.

I spend far too much time watching recruit videos. He’s the sort of guy who could play multiple positions, but will likely end up at G or RT. He can do it all. He’s got good power and punch. It appears to me that his pass blocking and his footwork associated with pass blocking have significantly improved from his earlier camps and film to his later camps and film. He’s now a very good run blocker and pass blocker. The full package. He also seems to bleed orange and is a big rah rah rah UT guy.

This gruntles me.
