2019 Recruiting - Football

Roschon says he is "patiently waiting"

Watched North Shore vs Lake Travis yesterday at NRG. I know Garrett Wilson from LT is listed as a 5 star but he got owned by NS. He appears to be quite lazy and a head case so good luck in Ohio. Zach Evans, the RB for NS is very impressive. Not sure what his stats were since it was a blowout for NS but he certainly had himself a game yesterday.

I have only seen a handful of highlights but that score was a little surprising. I hope Evans did not hurt anyone's child.

All games broadcast on FOXSportsSW and the Fox SportsGo app.

Jalen Catalon spent alot of his time this weekend with Caden Sterns and Kobe Boyce who all share the same trainer
Still have to convince his parents though

This is interesting to me. Ton of work over what? What can Missouri say? We're Missouri? Better academics? Closer to home? Better prospects for playing time? Better preparation for an NFL career? More sophisticated under the table payment scheme?

... Ton of work over what?...

My interpretation of that phrase "ton of work" is --
(1) They are letting us know BC was personally assigned to hold Washington;
(2) BC only has so much time in a work day, and has spent more of that time lately on Washington relative to other recruits who dont need the same level of hand-holding; and
(3) They are also indirectly reminding us once again that some of our assistants need more help with recruits than others

North Shore vs. Duncanville looks like a classic
Here Nahlin corrects the typical regional bias

Here is commit Tyler Owens senior highlights -- watch it, be happy
He literally leaves bodies all over the field

That's a man playing against boys! True beast.
I don't watch a whole lot of highlight videos, because it is too hard for me to judge the level of competition. However, there is no problem seeing that he can come downhill in a HURRY and arrive with malice in his heart.

247 confirmed the presence of a second secret visitor this weekend, who is already committed to a different program. The name is still a secret for now

There is a second theory that there was no "second secret visitor." That our recruits were just f'ng with the paysite people and are now laughing their butts off about it

However, EJ Holland said -- "“We know who the second secret visitor was. You’ll find out Wednesday”
When pressed for more, he said, “We are not going to answer any more questions on this. You’ll find out Wednesday”

QB - Johnson = done
RB - Brown. Need another
OT - Johnson, Shepherd, Hookfin = done (assuming Hookfin)
Interior OL - Maybe Coker. Looks like a giant whiff
TE - Wiley, Liebrock = done
Slot WR - Smith, Whittington = done
Outside WR - Washington. Need one. Two if Washington goes to MO (although if our current guys return, this part of the depth chart looks totally different)

DE - Warren, Jones, Mpagi = done (assuming Warren)
DT - Sweat = done (wouldnt mind another but word is our staff says its enough + 2020 looks good )
LB - Floyd, Gbenda, Tillman, Johnson = done (assuming Johnson)
Outside corner - Watson, Caldwell = done
Nickel corner - can play Adimora here but we want Catalon
Safety - Owens, Adimora = done

247 Mike Roach thinks Georgia is out of it for Noah Cain. He thinks it’s down to Penn State vs. Texas, with Tennessee having an outside shot. Roach favors PSU but thinks Cain is torn and not made the final decision yet.

I was at the LT - Northshore game yesterday. The teams in Texas that are better than NS are college teams. I think NS could beat some of the college teams in TX.

BTW, I concur with LHL about Zach Evans. He is the real deal.

Reminds me of the film on BJ Foster last year.

Joe, as usual, you are D’Man.

Re RB, I agree and wish that we could find a body type like Montgomery of ISU or Sproles. These smaller, stocky/quick RBs are often very effective.

Re the LBs, are any in the group ready to really contribute in 2019?

This article in yesterday's Oklahoma City newspaper claims it was our interest in Marcus Houston that "waned."

"Millwood star receiver De'Mariyon Houston was set on signing with Texas on Wednesday to open the early National Signing Day.

He had taken several promotional photos, had visits with the coaches and been to campus. But something changed in the last few weeks.

Texas' interest waned.

Despite being committed since early July, Houston was discouraged. It was time to start over in the recruiting process. One of the state's top recruits re-entered the market.

“It was like they found somebody else or something and they were really trying to push him off,” Millwood athletic director Shannon Hayes said. “He felt like they didn't want him anymore.”

Houston, a 6-foot, 165-pound four-star recruit, remains No. 3 on the most recent update to The Oklahoman's Super 30 rankings of the state's top college football recruits in the 2019 class....."

High school football: Millwood star De'Mariyon Houston's recruitment remains up in the air
