2019 Recruiting - Football

If Bru runs a 4.6 forty which someone stated, but I think he's a little faster, then I would prefer to see him at linebacker. He would certainly bring athleticism and smarts to the position. Plus he'll have a year to get stronger. I think we are solid at wr while a little thin at lb.
While I’d like to see him have a fair shot at WR, with his size and only an 18 year old kid who still has some growing to do mixed in with some Yancy McKnight he could very well turn into a damn good TE or LB with his size.

Our WR haul this class --

-- MaxPreps Player of the Year (Bru)
-- Gatorade Player of the Year (Jake)
-- MVP of the UA Game (Washington)
-- 5-star who scored 6 TDs in the state championship game (JWhitt)
-- a fifth who obviously is not afraid to compete with them (Lewis)

If not for Pete Carroll's cheating, Reggie Bush's theft of the Heisman and that month-long ESPN show about how SC was the greatest football team in the history of the known universe, then I might feel bad for them

Peaking into the future --

Evans and JWhitt are split in the backfield behind RoschonJ at QB
Jake, Bru and Washington are the WRs
JWhitt goes into motion ....

I'm still not sold on Roshon, but that is the same for about 99.9% of the QBs on the high school level. But the rest of that is IMO on par with what Alabama can put on the field. We don't currently have the depth to go toe to toe with Bama like Clemson did, but damn that is a scary group of guys.

Here is some aggy radio if interested in hearing their perspective
Loochi and Braun give the conspiracy theory of the day beginning around 41:30ish. They not happy

Well there is 10 minutes of my life I'll never get back. Please tell me that show originated out of collieville. He accuses Tom Herman of tampering with absolutely no examples except to say we know he did it with aggsy before jimbo arrived. He calls every recruiting service a bunch of morons. BTW it should be noted he is in the same industry and none of those morons would offer him a job. What does that make him? The best part to me has to be his rant on biasness and his top 44 might be the most bias list I've ever seen.

Looch is like the fat kid who wasn't invited to the party and talks crap about everyone who was, and how his life is better because he gets to spend his time playing world of warcraft.

You guys ease up on Billie boy. Remember tampering, lying, and cheating is all he knows, and while he was never good enough to be close to the experts in their program, he learned from some of the best.

I think that USC girls stack up really well with UCLA girls
Being a transplanted Texan here in SoCal, let me add my expert assessment of this topic.

The cheerleaders in the PAC are, well, how do I say this, reasonably outstanding. Of course, I am talking about their intellectual prowess. My assessment has NOTHING to do with their outward appearance, and to pass judgment on that would be sexist. In fact, I’m at risk of being assessed an additional tax — on top of the tax, on top of the tax, on top of the tax — (that I already pay here in CA) if Gavin happens to read this board.

Anyway, just saying. Ahh, Phil Knight knows how to pick ‘em up in Eugene as well.

Jerry Gray was perhaps the most football smart player I ever met. He likely was the best safety in our school's history. He ran down Bo, albeit at an angle, he knew the angle to take. No car in the history of our school has been investigated or scrutinized as closely as his BMW.

Jerry Gray was all pro

Jerry Gray ran a 4.6
Jerry was something special, but Jerry’s kids got torched in the 1986 Freedom Bowl which, unfortunately, I attended. Miserable game, and a miserable, rainy, cold night in Anaheim.

From TFB --

I am hearing from multiple places that early enrollee Jordan Whittington, who was initially recruited as a slot, will start off working mainly with the running backs.

It seems the Longhorn staff was also paying attention to the State Championship. This should also make sure that once Jake Smith arrives on campus, the two are not stepping on each other’s toes a la Lil’Jordan Humphrey and Reggie Hemphill-Mapps.

247's Barton Simmons confirmed McCoy has gone back into the 2019 recruit list, and they re-opened his spot for CBs, which are piling in. So, he will count in the 2019 team rankings. Which is sure to send aggy into further tizzies, perhaps even spark a boycott
