2018 Roster

Kirk Johnson is actually healthy?

I think even the coaches will believe it when they see it
That said, he was a really good looking RB prior to the physical issues
Maybe it can happen. For awhile, it seemed like Jordan Hicks would never play for us due to injury, now he is in the league

The early August depth chart is a work in progress. I did find this --

a "source" praised Keondre Coburn saying, “Keondre penetrates. People do not stop Keondre Coburn when he bull rushes”.

In the same piece, however, they also noted Junior Angilau stood up Coburn cold at Tues practice.

Maybe Coburn was calf rushing on that play instead of bull rushing.

LB Anthony Wheeler will be suspended for 1st half vs. Maryland for targeting ejection vs. Missouri in the Texas Bowl

Herman said Keaontay Ingram “goes with the ones quite frequently.”

Along with Caden Sterns on defense, Demarvion Overshown has gotten work with the ones at rover with Jeffrey McCulloch missing time

Which was a total emotional/circumstantial bogus call.
I believe we will miss him in that half. Thought he ended last season looking strong roving the middle when he was in.

I honestly had the thought we he was ejected..."That will hurt us next year against Maryland's style of offense" to start out the game.
I totally forgot about this until I saw the presser. At least he will have fresh legs and have his hair on fire for second half!

I both love and hate this time of year. I get so pumped with the stories that come out, but at the same time, I keep reminding myself they said the same kind of stuff about X player and look how that turned out.

I do believe that the offense is light years ahead of where it was last year. As long as we have solid oline play and limited injuries, i think we are going to be really good there.

I also think for the first time in a very long time we will have a true TE we can depend on. None of this 230 lb WR or 260 converted Olinemen stuff, real TE who can both block and catch. In fact i predict one of our most effective formations for both running and play action will be the 2 TE set.

People who are worried about missing Wheeler for the Maryland game, don't I think this is a team in disarray, I think Durkins is going to be fired and the whole season is shot. Texas will drop the hammer on them.

There is no doubt for me this team is loaded with talent, with playmakers. We need stability on the line and good QB play, led by coaching and playcalling that gets the most out of our talent. We are as close or as far away from being a top 10-15 team as you want to view us as. But I do not question the talent we have. Only caveat I'd add is depth at a few positions is lacking.

I am predicting a Fozzie Whitaker type comeback.

Word is Ingram is getting noticed at RB
Supposedly a good receiver out of the backfield

And Joseph Ossai at LB

Also some Derek Kerstetter at center, allowing Zach Shackelford to play RG. This was one of my ideas for the OL in the offseason. Hopefully a sign the coaches think RT is in good shape

Redshirt freshman Kobe Boyce is getting some buzz while replacing Davante Davis who is out with a hammy. Boyce has great speed and has finally been able to add a little weight.

True freshman Joshua Moore has earned time with the first-team at the slot, in front of Jerrod Heard. He came in tall and light, but they say he has been adding weight. The quote is “when he’s on the field you feel his presence”

Neither of the knee injuries to freshman LB Ayodele Adeoye or freshman DB DeMarvion Overshown is season-ending.

4-6 weeks?
4 weeks means they miss everything through Tulsa and probably USC on the 15th. 6 weeks mean they miss everything through K-State and probably TCU. Going to be borderline redshirt years.
