Yep, absolutely delusional. Perpetually delusional.
They somehow don't understand why the SEC/Championships selling points to recruits works for Bama, but not for them.
They will also NEVER understand that they were just a pawn in the sec's game to get a stronger foothold on the State of Texas recruiting trail. They truly believed that they were wanted in the sec. Of course they were wanted, but not for the lofty reasons that they thought.
The Aggies do enjoy the loudest stadium in the SEC (although Auburn is close). It should be the most difficult place in the SEC to play, yet the Aggies have lost to every SEC West team at home except Arkansas because they play the Hogs at Jerry World.
The school has so much tradition, yet the football program has little; but then this is the school that signed to play LSU ten years in a row at Baton Rouge. Emory woke them up, but that was short lived thanks to their overzealous, short sighted alums, not to mention an internal civil war. When Jackie first arrived, he described it as a "sleeping giant" that needed to be "awakened and organized". He had some success, but even the most hardcore of the cheaters ousted Sherrill because "he was out of control" (their words, not mine).
Looking back over the decades, it has been their own alumni interference that has kept the Aggies from success, but consider that A&M has always played a "one-game season", and that game is no longer available.

That chart laid out that way is very helpful. It also frightens me to see how thin we are on the OL. We win or lose based on the strength of our OL and DL play. I am old school in my belief about that. We have to get more OL in and fast. I have heard it is a down year for OL in the state of Texas. While I don't want mediocre players filling scholarships up, we have to has someone for some depth.
That is a full house compared to the super thin the QB position is in right now.
