0U stud WR arrested on two felony charges

Amen-I-35- The way OK and Texas deals with this crap is entirely different. You don't see Jones, Joseph, Collins, and Ramonce playing anymore for us do you? I bet just like other posters on here the kid that got in trouble will play at Ou and probably next year. The idiot that beat his friend up and put him in the hospital played at blow U again. The end justifies it all in bullet Bob's mind.

The arrest and police incident report from the daily jokahoma
its just a gun

According to the police report released Monday, Jarboe and Davis drove into the Cedar Grove High School parking lot in a yellow Geo Storm about 3:30 p.m.

That's when police say Jarboe walked to the back of the car and pulled back the spare tire cover, reaching for a silver and black handgun and tucking it into the waistband of his pants.

According to the report, Cedar Grove assistant principal Karl Moton saw Jarboe grab the gun and told school police to search Jarboe, Davis and the car.

When Jarboe saw police officer John F. Brooks approaching, he tried to hide the gun underneath the driver's seat of the car, where the gun was eventually found, police said.

The gun, a 380 caliber pistol, was loaded with four bullets. And the gun was stolen from an owner in nearby Clayton County, according to police.

I guess big red sports is providing only Geo storms these days

Yeah Since, we will compare histories on this kind of **** until hell freezes over. Just bring on all the bad stuff you can find and we will see if it is 12 printed pages of violations like blow U has and that was before BRI even made it on the scene.

The pdf of the police report looks like pretty damning evidence to me. I can not imagine the explanation that will allow him to keep his scholarship. Time will tell but if that report is real he doesn't need to be in Norman.

oops my bad we are talking HOF landthief here what a badmofo

Jarboe says arrest 'a speed bump
By Jake Trotter
Staff Writer

Oklahoma football signee Josh Jarboe told an Atlanta television station Thursday that he's still planning on coming to OU despite being charged with two felony gun counts late last week.

"I still have my scholarship, I'm still going to Oklahoma,” Jarboe told JaQuitta Williams of WSB-TV. "If I don't go to Oklahoma, I'm going somewhere.

"This isn't fixing to just stop me.”

ya right

Sooner here. This arrest is embarrassing.

Don't throw too many stones, Longhorns. One of these days, a UT player will be arrested for something.

No doubt, Sooner. This has happened before and it will probably happen again...to both schools. However, at least as far as UT is concerned, Mack is trying to raise the bar. Ken Rucker's new position is just one step. The others are the recruits that Mack is offering. In past years, UT and OU have gone after nearly every recruit. Look at OU's 2008 class. Mack went after just 3. 2009?, just 5 (so far). He's looking for more than just talent. He's after kids who WANT to play for Texas, WANT to be good students, and WANT to be good people. It may seem subtle, but he's not going after the same ol' kids that Mr. Stoops et al are going after. I guess we'll see how successful he is in the coming years.

Was being facetious, hornrush.

Despite Mack's 'good kids from good families' campaign, I'm pretty sure Texas leads the Big 12 (if not the NCAA) in football player arrests over the past two years.

...and history beyond those 2 years says the opposite.

The point I was trying to make (again, subtle) is that a new set of standards (plural) is being set for recruits at Texas. Just think about how many recruits UT and OU have battled over year in and year out throughout the past 40 years or so. Now when Mack goes after 3 of OU's signees or 5, or 4...that's a landscape change. Different kids, different methods, different standards. How can this not be good news for all of us? Even, eventually at OU?

hornrush, I don't blame Mack (or Texas) for the arrests. It's almost impossible to look at these blue chips and know how they're going to adjust to the college scene. Unless, you just REALLY go after the scholar athletes (Stanford, Army, Air Force), in which case, you have no chance competing on a national level.

Mack really doesn't have a choice but to go after better citizens given his experience over the last several years. He didn't suddenly develop some superior moral compass or anything...

He does have a choice...and he's made it. What about Mr. Stoops?

The problem with the Sooners is they haven't master the art of getting away with it like UT has:
Not my dope.
Not my gun.
Not my breath.
Not my punch.
Not my knife.
Not my girl
Not my piss.
.
.
.
Then get a $1 lawyer or give DA and judges season tickets.

Leftwith,
i agree maybe in ONLY the last 2 yrs UT leads the big 12, for sure, in # of arrests. but look to see of those arrests how many have played of UT after that? That is the point some of us are trying to make. We have had arrests and so have other schools (Ou) but look at what happens after and the actions taken by the coaching staff/school.

Army-Maybe the frat kid needed his butt kicked by Brock Edwards. Kind of like the Ruf-Nek at blow U that got one of those paddles stuck up his *** by the big Nebraska lineman. He even then was declared innocent by a jury in Norman. You mean that kind of action by college players?

Exactly, I'll reserve my final judgment for the when all the evidence is presented. Every one of these situations is different and it is ridiculous to compare one to another.

I have no idea what transpired with Brock Edwards and the frat boy. If he picked a fight with Brock he got what he deserved. Same thing with the Ruf-Nek, he was taunting the Nebraska Team when a linemen ran over him. The jury wasn't sure it was intentional. But teasing a 300 pound man in pads is stupid in any case. Same thing with Dusty Dvoracek, what was reported as a beating didn't turn out to be.

I'll wait to see what happens but my ears will be perked to hear the reason that Jarboe had a gun on his person on school grounds. I just can't fathom that would be acceptable under any circumstances.

It looks like this matter has been resolved. Jarboe pleaded guilty to charges of carrying a weapon on school property and possessing a stolen weapon. Those charges had been reduced from felonies to misdemeanors by Judge Michael Hancock due to the fact Jarboe had no prior criminal history.

"We expect to have Josh on our roster this fall and look forward to a long and successful career for him both academically and on the football field," Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops said in a statement.

It looks like Stoops is going to give him a chance.
The Link

“We expect to have Josh on our roster this fall and look forward to a long and successful career for him both academically and on the football field,” Stoops said in a statement. “He became involved in a situation at his school during his senior year that certainly has caused us concern. At the same time, we have personal knowledge of Josh through our recruiting contact with him and from personal references from his school and individuals of authority in his life.”

“We feel that he will be a positive contributor to our campus. We have already stressed to him that his citizenship is of the utmost importance. He understands that anything less than exemplary behavior will not be tolerated.”

HS campus. And it was stolen property.

That's a big deal, and I'm a gun nut.

Kids shouldn't have guns at any level of school. (College I'm still undecided about)
