2025 Recruiting - WBB

Someone needs to go and spy for any other coaches. I wonder if Chavez “might” stay over I Austin and watch senior day at THE MOODY. That would start rumors.

Saw this posted on another forum:

you can watch both State Tournaments for under $10.
They even send you a reminder email to cancel before the month sub is up.

For anyone interested there is a recent video posted on YouTube titled “Day in the Life #1 Aaliyah Chavez”. It was posted by TheoVisuals. Shows a little about her family, practices and game play. She is taller than I thought. She’s no Caitlin Clark but she can shot 3’s. Her father has from the beginning been very much involved and supportive, or perhaps controlling, of her development and BB career.

Chavez …..in addition to being extremely skilled……is very strong. Oh by the way……sure would be nice to see a photo of Schaefer in the stands.

Tech sent an Assistant Coach to see Aaliyah’s game and he returned with about 5:00 to go in the first half of the Colorado @ Tech game. Didn’t catch his name.

Apparently everyone is picking Horns. Always mentions the others but suggest it’s Texas. The guys think the Nike connection is a huge factor for Horns.

Sorry not sorry. When we played LSU a couple of weeks back, I introduced myself to visiting fans and congratulated them on their terrific players and close game. I even offered restaurant suggestions. Whenever I have ventured to Waco or Lubbock, I was always met with unkindness and poor sportsmanship. Wish I could say that’s an exaggeration, but the horns down and the generic Austin and UT homophobic slurs were very real.

I’m not saying Chavez is coming to Texas, but I would certainly understand why she would keep quiet about it if she is.
Yeah, never understood why TT thought we were such big rivals. Never thought of them as a traditional rival, just one of the old SWC schools we were stuck with that envied our academic reputation. Sand Aggies, as others on this board call them.

We're number 1, Senior Day and a sellout at Moody ... don't know how any other school could beat that atmosphere, but money talks.
As my spouse and I floated out of the Moody after the senior day ceremonies, my spouse said to me in reference to the news that Chavez was at the game: “She has seen everything Texas has to offer. It is up to her to decide if this is what she wants.” I happily concurred. If Chavez chooses Texas, great! If not, I shrug. The Texas program is in a great place. I expect Vic to continue to sign great players who fit the program. (Doesn’t mean I no longer follow recruiting with interest. I do.)
