Where does Sam E fall in UT QB history

I've always really liked James Brown's quote when he was forced to start as a freshman against OU. After a TD drive, OU punted, James went out, looked over at the OU defense and said, "You guys are still here? I thought you give up and gone home by now"

Sam has been the Horn's QB in four bowl games and the Horns won all of them, might need an asterix on the 2020 Alamo since he was injured and DNP the 2nd half.

Kid got drafted and played in pros. Not exactly my definition of average. I a

He got drafted in the 5th round because he was the qb for the national champions. He spent one year with the steelers, one year in Germany and a part of a year with Philly never seeing any real playing time in the NFL. His NFL stats you may ask? 69 yards with a 39% completion percent, 0 touchdowns and 1 interception.

Even in college he only had a 55% completion rate and in two years starting threw for 4,500 yards. I'm not saying he was a bad qb, but Fulmer knew how to use him.

Are you seriously arguing he should be compared to Manning? Being on a good team does not make you a better player at a particular position.

I would put Sam in the top tier for leadership and intangibles. One step down from a skill level and no hardware to speak of except for one NY6 trophy. If the team had a stout defense and better coaching during his tenure, he could've had more significant hardware, at least 1+ B12 trophies.

Buechele had a better deep ball and was more accurate but TH had decided on Sam all the way. Buechele did take a physical beating too.

What frustrated me was TH saying he didn't watch any film on Texas after he was hired, then was apparently amazed when Heard showed QB skills in a game. What an idiot TM is. A good coach could've turned Heard into a serious threat at QB, at least for a package.

Nope, I wrote that he was not average. He was far above average.

Remember that Sam restored the program to respectability. We didn’t win any titles but he has 4 bowl trophies following the Charlie Strong humiliation. Never forget Charlie Strong. 1 bowl appearance in 5 years where we were humiliated by a rival.

3 years.

OK, *******, so you are waiting for Sam to make an announcement, but you rush to your computer and report it.

Either you respect Sam, and let him announce, or you report it as speculation to create clicks. What rock do these slimeballs crawl out from under?

More importantly, why would anyone pay for their speculative ********?
