The Hispanic vote in Texas may be on the early side of a struggle between the reasonable, conservative Hispanic vote and the Hispanic vote that can be energized by the radical side represented by the Castro brothers. Much like our President, they were raised by a radical, racist mother that was instrumental in the formation of La Raza Unida and who undoubtably "influenced" her sons to their present philosophy.

Two things, I think most Hispanic families are hard working people with good work ethics who want their children to have opportunities that they never had, to the point that they are willing to make great sacrifices personally to see that they get the education and employment opportunities that will afford them a better life. Sure, some of them play the system with respect to social services, but it is made easily available to them, so why not? They still are primarily out there working and trying to improve their lot, not relying on those gimmes for their existence for generations upon generations.

Secondly, it looks like the plan is in motion for the GOP. George P. has filed to enter state politics, and he is just as Hispanic as Obama is black.
