Week 8 Prediction Thread: Texas vs. Houston...3rd Ward, "We have a problem"

Interested in same GJ. We’re not attending primarily due to discussions on here and other sites about the neighborhood. At my age do not want or need any potential negative confrontation, way past that macho stage.
If TDECU stadium was in Pearland or The Woodlands, I would consider attending the game in person. Or if they played the game at Rice Stadium.

Come on, people. You will be able to park within 4-5 blocks of stadium for only $20-30 per car. If you're worried about being recognized, it's not that well lit.

My primary concern is drivebys.

If you Uber, beware of a normal fee to go to Third Ward, but you'll play hell getting them to pick you up and take you home for less that $150-200.

Last night I heard on the news that year-to-date homicides in the Bayou City are down about 600 from this time last year, so that’s kind of encouraging.

GJ,

They are down, but only about 30-40. That number would be twice as many if the bad guys could shoot. The true Third Ward is down, but those numbers include Sunnyside which apparently is full of bad shots.

Yep, I don't care to get attacked again. My body may not hold up to being in the hospital again. And that was in broad daylight.

Texas 52
Houston 21

And I have a suggestion for where they can out the extra bleachers this time. It not only saves a lot of space, but keeps them out of the sunlight.

If Ewers doesn't pass for 500 against these guys, I'll question the gameplan. The Houston defense is bad!

Texas 49
Houston 17

Okay, we have had time to practice and heal. Hope Sark has learned his lesson about being cute in the Red Zone. Horns get it done:
TX ~ 42
UH ~ 17 (and I am pushing that one)

I am still burned after the fair 2 weeks ago. I know Houston sux but I’m just not confident how strongly we will bounce back.

Texas 34 Coogs 24

Same boat LH, cannot believe how our defense folded and that we failed from the one yard line. Cannot get it out of my head. Deja vu?

That's great news GJ and changes everything! Thanks for sharing. Based on that, I see that there are a few tickets to be had. I believe I'll see if I can grab one and mosey up there this afternoon.

P.S. I believe the same report about homicides stated that other violent crimes are actually up. I think I just changed my mind again.

Wait WHAT?
Homicides are down 600? 600 from what? How many homicides did Houston have in 2022 or 21 . Whichever year was used.

I see a lot of scores with over 50 points scored for Texas. We haven't come close to scoring that many...and this week will be no different.

Texas - 45
Cougars - 23

I may have misheard the number. I was driving on the Sam Houston Parkway when I heard that but my main focus was on the antics of the friendly courteous motorists around me.

update: it’s actually down 60 from last year (I was off by a decimal point).
