You have more faith in Auburn than I do.

Going back to when DKR arrived, the kicking game was a huge part of game planning. How many games did Erxleben win for us?

Our program has always produced GREAT kickers, clutch players. How the hell did we get where we are now?

My 2A team 52 years ago had a better punter. We don’t pressure or block kicks. We can’t return without a high probability of a penalty.

Over 10 years ago we traveled to Nashville for the Vandy-Auburn game. Older son was going to Auburn. This was the year before Cam. Auburn was the overwhelming favorite and got beat. I'm going to have to think about this one. I know what the heart says. Will that overcome what the head says may be a possibility.

To be clear – for those of us who graduated from the University of Texas when we were a football school, not an academic juggernaut, I’m picking Texas.

I think the team will be ready, focused, and pissed. They better be!

My issue is Quinn. I don’t know how he takes a leap from what we have seen the past two weeks, to a level of performance that is just “acceptable.” And if it was my choice, disregarding all the superfluous non-football related criteria (like Quinn’s future) , I’d go with Arch. (And when Haltzell and CDC wake up and decide to pay me $10 million a year, I’m going to force the issue.)

I wondered that too. I always thought Rice was the nerds. Vandy is more the uppity country club type. I've met a few that thought they were too good to talk to me, but none were nerds. I had a Vandy guy in my MBA class and he was wealthy guy, but not nerdy or uppity.

If you take the Engineering and Science schools at UT I'm sure there's a lot more nerds than Vandy.
