Week 3 Prediction Thread: Texas vs UTSA...Let's Hope We Aren't Wile E. Coyote

I've known him since he was "Richard" and that's all I've ever called him He was/is that school taking it from a community college thru commuter school to being a destination university. What the administration did to him was a travesty. After it happened, I called his office to tell him if there was anything I could do for him to let me know. I was told, "we are not an answering service or 411". Bunch of ungrateful pieces of ****. If I had been there in person, I'd probably still be in jail.

I agree what happened to him was a travesty. The investigation into the allegations against him was conducted by the UT System...whoever the hell they were. I doubt they were people who actually knew him. I agree 100% that the whole damned thing was mishandled. Yes, he turned a commuter college into a respectable research University.

So, Richard or Ricardo?!?!...I guess people in Austin know him as Richard. People in San Antonio know him as Ricardo. Pretty sure the name on his UT diploma is Ricardo.

Regardless what we call him he is a hell of a fine man who represented UT & UTSA with class, dignity & respect then got **** upon by a small group of faceless ingrates.

Didn't mean to ruffle your feathers...I've just always known him by his homey name. I didn't know he went by Richard outside SA. But other than Ric"hard" vs Ric"ardo", we totally agree. And UTSA has not found his equal to replace him.

This game has been UTSA equivalent to our Bama game and they have been preparing since last Spring for this game. We better watch out- Traylor will pull out all the stops. Hopefully in the end our talent prevails-

Horns- 37
Roadrunners- 27

texas 34
UTSA 13

Wright starts and completes 68%. mostly to Sanders and rb's. And we establish the run game.

Not understanding all the love UTSA is receiving. They went to OT with Houston, the same team that struggled with and lost to tceh in OT. Then they had to go to OT with Army to win last week. In those games, they've given up an avg of 37.5 pts. Sumpin' tells me their defense is lacking. Yeah, we're hobbling at QB right now, so turn Bijan and his friends loose Saturday night.

This may be true with healthy teams, but this game plays right into their hands. We may not have a QB to light up their weak defense, which means they'll stack the line to stop Bijan. If he can even play. This isn't the 60's and 70's where you can just plug in another running QB in the bone and run over a weak defense.

They also have the QB and WR's to move the ball up and down the field. Bama developed the blueprint for how to attack our defense in the 4th Qtr. We will see a lot of 4-5 wide. Will our pass defense be able to stop it?

Alabama could, yes. UTSA? Think they can stop not just Bijan but the rest of 'em for 4 qtrs? I doubt it...

Don't have to stop. Just slow down. One thing UTSA does do well is score.

Very good analysis. I live 7-10 minutes from UTSA & my 2 son's are alums (although I did raise them to be Horn fans). UTSA is my #2 rooting interest. I follow them closely. All I can say is don't sleep on the Roadrunners. They have some talented players & excellent coaches. I hope they play well, but not well enough to win.

If, as someone above said, UTSA blitzes the hell out of Card (or Wright), then Bijan and Roshon will have HUGE nights running and catching screens and swing passes for big gains. UTSA is decent, but not Texas tough this year. GP will not allow our defense to fail in this game.

We’re still figuring out how to contain a mobile QB. Hope he doesn’t run for a hundred on us. We’ll be fine otherwise.
