Week 2 Prediction Thread: Texas vs Alabama...Season Defining Game

Sabre
I wouldn't expect a highly rated QB coming out of a 5-6A program and in his for sure second year at a Top 5 college to telegraph a receiver. Very disappointing.

Then, one out of 10 plays, look downfield on a deep throw.
Herein lies the problem - he could not hit the wide-open receivers downfield last year and had the same issues last Saturday. He is going to have to hit over 50% of his downfield passes on Saturday if Texas has a chance to win.

I say 25% should be sufficient.

Stating something obvious to many of you:

IMHO. This game will define many things for Sark, QE, the program & recruiting for not only for this season but beyond.

Unfortunately, based on last Sat. I think we fall short.......

I genuinely hope I am DEAD wrong, we win, and in shame I crawl back here to eat crow.

Classic Head v. Heart game. Head says take Alabama. Heart says Texas will win. Odds are usually better thinking with my head versus hoping with my heart. Sorry, but I hope I'm wrong.

Tide 23
Horns 17

Texas, marching toward the playoffs—30
Alabama, who we play in a rematch in January—24

13 catches for X would be phenominal and would most likely result in more than 24 Texas points but no way would Bama allow a receiver to have 13 catches....that would also leave others wide open! I'd take 17 completions for Ewers...

Alabama 27
Texas 10

I am officially amending my pick. Quinn's two best games were in the two most pressure packed of the season. Bama until he got hurt and OU. It doesn't get any bigger than this so I think he is going to ball out. I also think our defense will confuse Milroe and hold Bama back.

I would tell you to watch Bama's losses as of late. Tennessee comes to mind. Explosive passing games with good receivers are what beat Bama. Not saying that happens for Texas, but solid defense and a big game from a receiver or 2 is a path for a win.

Texas 27-20
27-21 Horns. This is Milrose's first big game. Ford gets the pic to seal the game.
We're playing with house money in this game. All the pressure is on them. We ran one misdirection play last week and it scored the first TD. Sarks been scheming for this game all fall. Think the Horns play their best game.

I hope so. I have a lot of confidence in him but he cannot do it on the bench. Most Horns fans think Texas beats Bama the last two times played had the quarterback finished the game. Last year was a cheap shot. We shall see how well Quinn can take the hits.

no I don’t believe it but I cannot put what I really think - I never bet against my boys.

Saban has quietly been boiling over all the national hype about Texas. It will unfortunately come out tonight.

Tide 34
Texas 20

I think the opposite. I think he likes Sark and Texas getting positive attention.

Watched Finebaum yesterday, Tebow and Jordan Rodgers spoke very highly about the talent level of Texas aswell of the coaching ability ot SS; you could almost hear them say Texas has a great chance of winning....very positive comments..

Holly Rowe also was very complimentary of Texas talent and SS....she really has a great grasp of college football...

In the meantime, I had predicted Texas 24 Bama 20....my 8 yr old grandson (Aggie parents) picks Bama 27 Texas 20...!!! I can't lose to him!!!!
