Week 13 Prediction Thread: Texas at Texas A&M...A Rivalry Renewed But One Sided.

I wish there was a way to help the team and coaches understand the deranged hate aggy has for TEXAS. They may not understand until they get there.

This is my biggest concern about this game. You just know that aggy will take every cheap shot they can possibly get away with, before, during and after the game.

They just love late hitting our QBs, and under every tackle scrum, they'll be nut punching and ankle twisting.

To me this game comes down to one primary variable: The Texas QB. Does Quinn play? Is he healthy? How healthy?

I’m holding back until I see the 2nd injury report on Thursday, or is it Friday? But my guess is that Quinn will be listed as “questionable” Wednesday, and “probable” on the 2nd report. Of course, that wouldn’t mean that he is close to 100%.

So it looks like unless there’s a setback, Quinn will be starting. That’s good news, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see Manning play in this game.

There are so many variables & intangibles. One (intangible) that might help us is the fact that they will be playing under much more psychological pressure. They have to win.

Sark likes to say that we should play with emotion, but not play emotionally. I think not playing “emotionally” will be a challenge for them.

In regards to that Duke, why not just tell QE he's sitting this one. The pressure is on A&M and its substantial. They HAVE to win. Horns live to play another day either way. This is an injury issue, not a who's better for the W. Horns have a lot o football yet to play. I would prefer a "no ankle issue" QE 2-3 weeks from now...which is the option available. Arch will bring some Manning Magic, and that may be the difference to pull a W. Regardless I think you're right, we will see AM in this game...just a matter of how bad is QE's ankle when the change occurs?

Good to see that you are around too. I had lost my password. But my email address had also changed (and I had never corrected it in the profile), so I couldn't retrieve it. Kept thinking that I would find Dion's email to get things fixed, but got lazy and never got around to it - for a few years! Then I just tried a password that I might have concocted long ago, and it worked yesterday to my big surprise. So I am back. Just on time for the big game!!

There is some news today at a subscription site that Quinn's ankle had not healed as quickly as they expected as of yesterday (but he practiced and they are still expecting it to be okay by Saturday).

As you said, we shouldn't be surprised if Arch starts. Or Sark may send QE in to start but could pull him later if the ankle is affecting him.

Crap, would haves loved to hear Q’s ankle is 90% or better. Sark is going to have a tough call. I’m ready and anxious for Manning magic but not till next year. I might be in minority but I think a healthy Q gives us our best chance against these maniacs. My head tells me the fanaticism aggies will bring is more than we can handle but I refuse to predict against my boys so I’m not making a prediction this game.

Yeah, what I've read today from several sources about Ewers ankle has me very pessimistic. One article stated his ankle was not getting better as fast as hoped, but he did practice.... how much?
