Week 11 Prediction Thread: Texas vs. TCU...Are They Christians or Cockroaches

Me too Poms even though I’m not as down on Maalik as others on this board I would agree we should be better on offense with Ewers - taking for granted he can shake off the rust. I am not ignoring his constant passing to the sidelines of late though.

right now Maalik is an interception machine waiting too happen. when things get sticky in the pocket he forces an off balance throw. Since scrambling is not part of his repertoire (for some unknown reason)that's one less option and contributes to his being interception prone. He could at least consider throwing the ball away. Ewers is good at that. So if Ewers is qb I say we when by two scores. He is just so much better at taking care of the ball.

What is the deal with Arch. There MUST be a reason he is not on the field. If MM plays the whole game, we lose. I will wait to hear what Sark has to say tomorrow presser

THC-U-17
Texas-38

Changes it — I believe in Ewers

Normally I attend this game in my old hometown, but wife surgery last week will not allow it....

Not sure about Ewers but will guess for fun:

Horns 35
Toads 17

Texas 35
TCU 23

I used to be able to walk to games at TCU but it’s a longer hike now that I’m in Grapevine. I can’t really get a feel for this one, TCU is not good but this Horns team doesn’t have that killer instinct and lets teams hang around way too often and way too long. Eventually it will bite Texas just hopefully not this weekend in my old neck of the woods.

FWHorn, you need to join our next informal and fun HF tailgate at Tolberts in downtown Grapevine!

Could they be hoping to avoid burning the shirt while simultaneously building up the NIL checks to good causes story to help a Hypesman case?

That said...if D shows up, this should be a blowout. I'm still cogitating and will forecast later in the week...

Like you Htown I’m thinking there must be some Sark rationale for no Arch even in mop up ie, against BYU. Either there’s something in practice he sees (contrary to his comments) or it’s the same unwillingness to change qbs as with Card.

I don't think the redshirt is even an issue at this point with anyone on this team who hasn't yet played. It's not like the old days where one play counts as eligibility. Arch could start the TCU game, play it's entirety and still get a redshirt year. My guess is he's not ready. As much as some on here question Sark, I don't. He sees him every day. He's been a player or coach for, I don't know 30 years. He's not perfect, but I don't think he's an idiot either. Sark wants to win. He puts the players on the field who he thinks gives us the best chance.

The Manning family wants Arch to red shirt. Supposedly to learn the game, but more than likely to beef up. for his 2 year stint as Texas' starter. (They know what it takes, unlike certain fathers who played QB for the NY Giants.)
