I can't guarantee Tumis will put them down with no more runs for the next two innings, but I can tell you he'll be throwing his slider/breaking stuff with a faster spin rate than you'll see from 3/4 (or more) of MLB pitchers, and the freakish movement on the ball that comes with that.
He (Tumis) has the best stuff on our pitching staff. Will he always have good control? Can't say. Will he put it all together, and keep it together? Can't say. But Tumis has the material to become one of our greats. Maybe as a permanent reliever, maybe as a starter.
This win will energize W for the remaining 2 games. UW, a non- baseball program?
Horns squander a LBJ 3 -1 lead.
I fully know its "baseball" and game 1 of the series. However, Pierce better step up and get them refocused or this could be a very LONG and painful season.
