Washington Huskies Series

Dee Kennedy. He has one good play in the field and one E. Let’s see how he is at the plate today.

Grubbs is done. He pitched really well. 1 run in 6 full innings.

True Freshman Selvig is in to pitch for us. Known for his control. Low 90s fastball and can spot his breaking stuff. His sauce isn’t as hot as Tumis or Hudson Hamilton, but he usually throws strikes.

And Selvig beans the first batter. That’s what I get for bragging about his control….

That’s pitching today at a 1.50 ERA level for Grubbs, which drives his Season ERA below 3.00. And he should now have enough innings to be considered a starter on the stats sheet. We need more of this.

We’ll see how Selvig holds up. And he needs to hold up.

Fastball in the low 90s and he paints the corners really with it well. Breaking stuff isn’t spectacular, but it’s ok and it gets the job done. Control is his middle name (When he’s not beaming batters…). But he can be hit by the better batters.

For THIS YEAR, Selvig’s best use might be as a mid-week starter or mid-week long reliever. We might want to move Fontenot up to first man out of the pen on weekends, or even weekend starter if Ace and Grubbs aren’t getting it done.

K!!!!

DuP has always had the sauce. Control has been his struggle. And throwing straight fastballs right down the middle.
