The end of Vandy-FSU is trumping the Austin super (grrrrrrrr), at least in D/FW. From the ESPN graphic, looks like it's scoreless after one inning at the Disch.
Next batter flies out to Keyes in right. Man on 3rd tags and scores, but Keyes guns it to Loy at SS who throws back to 2nd when the runner tried to go back after the great throw from Keyes. HUGE double play to end the inning.
Don't want to get in a whine fest, but Cole hasn't been getting the close calls that Purke has. We'll see how the entire game goes, but Cole was very close on some and wasn't getting it but Purke had a few way off the plate and got 'em.
We'll see.
Well they just jinxed us. Talking about our 20 game home winning streak.
Cole K's Featherston, Featherston's second K of the game.
Next batter slaps another single into LF. 2 on 2 down.
Next batter with grounder to Loy who throws to 2nd for the 3rd out. 2 innings in a row frogs have 2 runners on. Cole looks like he's breathing a little hard for this early in the game. I guess it's pretty hot out there.
I spilled my lunch on the way to the MW so missed the Horns inning at bat, but we did get a runner to third after a steal attempt that had the throw go into the outfield. But Walla promptly continued his playoff woes and ground out.
Cole just sat down the frogs for the first time I believe.
Horns still down 0-1 going to the B4.
Definitely shaping up to be one of those games where we'll scratch out a run to tie it up and go into extra innings where Keyes launches one to win it.
Rupp goes down looking at strike 3. I thought it was low and outside but this guy is pretty much getting whatever call he wants. I guess we won't be able to make him pitch if he's getting everything.
This is the one thing that drives me nuts about Augie. I obv have no statistical evidence to prove this, but I just can not imagine Moldenhauer bunting is the most optimal play here.
fuckin ********, Lusson gets strike 2 called at a ball at his fuckin ankles, then promptluy watches perfect strike 3 to K. Keyes steals second on the play.
I'm not normally one to ***** about balls and strikes, but Lusson drew a walk there. Ump saw it differently, though--instead of ball four at the ankles, he called it strike two. Kevin struck out on the next pitch.
