Talk about an upset they barely mad a Regional and pulled off what Aggy couldn't.

Meanwhile it's 11-2 Houston in the eighth.

UC-Irvine takes out the #1 overall seed as a 6-4-3 double play ends the game with the tying runs on base.

They win 4-2, those Anteaters are always trouble it seems.

So what is that, five national seeds gone now as the Regionals end?

Speaking of Cal-Irvine they are ripping OSU 7-1 in the sixth, still batting and the bases loaded

Bottom of the sixth and 7-1 Ant gobblers.

In the 7th now and still 7-1 Cal-Irvine

Now 8-1 in the 8th.

8-4 now as OSU tries to stage a comeback in the 8th.

8-4 in the ninth.

Cal-Irvine wins 8-4 without using their ace starter or their closer and is in good shape leading 1-0 in the series.

I have always hated UC Irvine since 2007 when Texas was the number four national seed and lost to them twice in the regionals in Austin. That was a major screw job by the ncaa as that UC Irvine team should have been anational seed too and definitely shouldnt have been the 2 seed in number four national seeds regional.

That 2007 Regional was a rough introduction to Cal-Irvine, but it was played in Round Rock at Dell Diamond.

Cal-Irvine at it again as they lead 1-0 in the ninth over OSU in Stillwater.

 

[NBHorn7]

Cal-Irvine wins 1-0 and and sweeps the series and heads to the College World Series to play Texas.

They now have taken out OSU teams on the road in consecutive weeks. They beat #1 overall seed Oregon State and now Oklahoma State.

I bet they wish Ohio State was waiting for them in Omaha.

They are on a roll and I think I would have rather played OSU from a Texas standpoint.
