We also have potential upsets as TCU, you know with the easy Regional is now in the 10th inning tied at 1-1 with Siena.

Alabama loses to Kennesaw State 1-0.
Jackson State takes down Louisiana Lafayette 1-0.
Georgia Southern beats Florida State 7-0.

Rice and George Mason are tied 0-0 in the sixth.

George Mason ties the game with Rice 1-1 in the eighth and have runners on the corners with one down.

George Mason takes the lead 2-1 still batting in the eighth.

Rice takes the lead 3-2 as George Mason botches a pick off throw that had the runner at first.

Bryant and Houston still tied 2-2 in the tenth.

After a valiant effort by the starting pitcher for George Mason, he leaves and the bullpen falters and Rice has taken command now 5-2 still batting in the eighth.

Houston wins over Bryant 3-2 in the tenth.

College of Charleston leads #2 overall seed Florida 3-0 in the fifth.

I've been following college baseball in earnest since 1999 and I have no idea where Kennesaw State is...

Rice wins 7-2 to set up tomorrow's winner's bracket game with Texas.

Kennesaw State is in Kennesaw, Georgia not that far from Atlanta. They are the Owls and have a date in the winner's bracket game tomorrow against Georgia Southern.

While Alabama and FSU face off in the loser's bracket.

College of Charleston leads overall #2 seed Florida 3-2 in the seventh.

North Dakota State is tied 1-1 with #1 overall seed Oregon State in the sixth.

I guess the Bison think they should start trying for upsets in other sports besides football.

College of Charleston leads Florida 3-2 in the ninth.

North Dakota State is tied with Oregon State still 1-1 in the seventh.

College of Charleston wins 3-2 over Florida. A good day for the Georgia schools while for the two big Florida schools, not so much.

So the #2,#5, and #6 overall seeds all lose today and for the first time three top 8 seeds lose on the first day of the Regionals.

Oregon State the #1 overall seed has taken a 2-1 lead over North Dakota State in the eighth.

Oregon State hangs on for a 2-1 win as a possible two run homer was caught at the wall for the last out.

That completes the first day of play in the Regionals. Quite a day of college baseball with more to come tomorrow.

Sec won 5 lost 5
Big 12 won 5... All 5

First-round games in the NCAA tournament can really be rough on the top seeds - if you're in the tournament at this point and you're a smaller school, it's usually because you've got a stud pitcher. Throw him out there against the top seed and you're always going to have a good shot at a quick upset.

Getting through the rest of the regional when you have to go deeper into the pen is usually another matter. But we'll see!

The beat goes on. Florida State going into the ninth and getting shut out by Alabama - elimination just 3 away. AND, the FSU softball team got eliminated by Baylor today. Today is not a good day to be a 'Nole, but history says they should be used to this by now.

How close can you get than to lose 6-6? Was it on penetrations or first downs due to Winston pitching?

My bad, meant to type 6-5.

Meanwhile in the battle of the basketball birds, both teams have stranded a man on 3rd, 0-0.

Pardon my ignorance here... and a little off topic, but ND State plays college baseball? I have seen them play pretty damn good football, but baseball? It is so friggin' cold up there most of the year, spring snow, moose wandering on the playing field and oil company fracking teams with all that racket... good luck to the Bison!

Ok TCU and Sam Houston in the bottom of the 20th tied at the familiar score of 2-2.

I'm dragging, but I'm watching and listening to the Texas post game press conference.

A diving catch by Boomer White in left just saved the game for TCU and it's on to the 21st inning.

Shades of Boston College approaching.

ESPN3 streaming.

Big contraversy as Sam Houston had the bases loaded and one out,

A high chopper went to short and they called interfence on a slide into second.

TCU had no chance to get the double play.

The Sam Houston coach has been ejected and the baserunner and we go to the 22nd inning.

TCU takes a 3-2 lead in the top of the 22nd.

Tough for Sam Houston, they had it won and an umpire takes it way from them.

Sam Houston got the tying run on second with one out, but didn't score.

TCU wins 3-2 and you will be hearing alot about this game later today.

TCU pulled a rabbit out their hat in this one. What a way to lose for Sam Houston State.

Key play, their was no chance to turn the double play for TCU, but the runner did go hard into the bag. I don't know, letter of the law and all that.
