But you are right, IF the only criterion for judgement is to officially increase geographical territory on a map, then none of it matters. But that is a really bogus way to judge. The US definitely wants control over military supply, incorporation into the petro-dollar system, and to make personal fortunes for crooked politicians like Biden and their families like Hunter.

Captured Russian soldiers are reporting that their comrades are being shot for retreating. Sounds like something akin to the old Red Army political commissars are back in action. I very much do NOT hate the rank-and-file Russian soldiers. I even feel a bit sorry for them. They’re mere pawns in this deadly game—used up and then cast by the wayside by their bloodthirsty leaders. Some things never change.

Chop, the Russian soldiers are fairly disinterested. There were reports that at the beginning of the invasion the Russian soldiers were getting on Tynder to hook up with Ukrainian women. It was such a problem that the military was running catfishing missions to catch soldiers messing around.

They don't care so much about Ukrainian politics.

In WWII the Red Army was one of our Allies, but they were still a horde of raping, burning, pillaging, marauding thugs. They were ultimately successful on the Eastern front of the European theatre of that much larger war, due to numbers and attrition—and those overwhelming barrages of artillery and Katyusha truck-fired rockets. They were pretty good at that. Also, the Germans were arrogant and bit off way more than they could chew.

More than half of the Red Army's resources were provided by the US. Without US aid they don't win the Eastern front.

Zelensky did say he would force Russia to kill every civilian in Kyiv before he would surrender, so this aligns with other reports.

Here is the best counter I have found to my claims that Putin just wants Ukraine to be neutral and for missiles to be removed from Eastern Europe. It comes from a guy I follow out of Latvia. As you would expect he is super suspicious of anything Putin says. He believes Putin wants to take over the former Soviet states, Latvia being one of them. Being a small country with their history I totally understand his perspective.

'Ponyatiya' which he mentions here is the mafia code that guys like Putin adhere to. They say whatever they can to hide their true intentions. There is definitely some of this going on, but it is impossible to know how much.

You are misleading. On purpose? You seem smart enough to hit the google before posting.

There are 349 political parties in Ukraine. I’m sure many of those are inactive. However, rest assured there are significantly more than 12. The largest of the one’s just banned had about 10% of seats in parliament. He also did not ban them. He suspended them temporarily as they are thought to be kremlin associated.

I wouldn't categorize Kadyrov as a Putin lackey. He criticized the Russian tactics just last week. He is a loyal ally of Putin but not a lap dog. Kadyrov wants to go scorched earth. Thus far, the Russians have avoided this.

Razman Kadyrov, the Chechen leader who sent more than 10,000 fighters to Ukraine, has urged President Vladimir Putin to step up his offensive against the country. He has previously called for "a large-scale operation" against the Ukrainian army. Now Kadyrov is suggesting that the Russian leader "order" the immediate seizure of places like Kharkov or Kiev "quickly, clearly and effectively".

Both the capital and the country's second largest city have been under heavy shelling for several days, resulting in civilian deaths and an increased flow of refugees fleeing Ukraine.
