The only bunt call I had any problem with was the very first one of the day.

Morales was struggling with command and walks the first two batters he faces.

Up comes Payton and he bunts the first pitch which was a ball high. Your most patient hitter with a good eye and a small strike zone. You really needed to take at least a strike first there and really Payton doesn't strike out much and has good speed to stay out of the double play.

Yes, I know Payton had the option to take, but he was told to bunt. As a coach you should have him taking till a strike is delivered and then bunt him if you feel that is the right thing to do. Ahead on the count I think he would be more selective and the pressure is mounting on Morales.

You have more options with Payton up in that situation because he can handle the bat. I just believe you have to take a strike first and go from there.

I actually thought we should have bunted more. Hell, we can't hit. And Morales probably would have screwed it up. I once saw a Juco team do 5 consecutive suicide squeezes. If they can't prove that they can make the right play, keep on doing it.
