U.S. vs. Slovenia--Yearrrrggh, more spoilers!!

OK. Now we'll see how much heart the U.S. has. Some tough luck here, but credit the Slovenians for maximizing their chances while we waste ours.

The US defense is just putrid, way too many Slovenians in space.

Bob Bradley should have been fired a year ago and we are reaping his atrocious coaching.

It is not Bradley's fault that Gooch can't mark or keep in line... wait.. didn't Bradley put in the recovering Gooch??!!

Damn this sucks....

Let's not overreact, folks. Due to injuries, our defense hasn't been able to play as a unit until last week, and it's not like we had a first-class backline to begin with.

Ultimately, the U.S. will continue to struggle on this stage until it can improve at possession.

First half in the books, another major league choke job by the US.

I have to admit that my European co-workers here are right, the US is constantly overranked and benefits from a weak Concacaf where the only competition is Mexico in a 3 bid association so guaranteed a slot every 4 years. The Concacaf strong schedule of friendlies never really tests just how good the US is and this is the result. We play a tier 3 European team and get run off the field like we dont even deserve to be there.

In the end, this is on Bradley, he has been a pathetic coach who should have been gone already and but for an Italian meltdown against Brazil and a miracle game against Spain I think he was half out the door last summer.

Unless the US comes up with a miracle in the second half this team will go down as more disappointing than the France '98 debacle.

Torres and Findley out for Edu and Feilhaber. Would've been nice had Findley not started the match to begin with. His touches were worthless.

Torres showed moments of promise, but ultimately got caught in possession too many times to be left on the pitch.

Some harsh fouls going against the U.S. right now, in my opinion.

Meanwhile, Slovenians are racking up yellows at an alarming rate.

Match has completely opened up now. Both sides are advancing to the attacking third within seconds of gaining possession.

Gomez looks to come on ... my guess is for Dempsey, who hasn't been the strongest today.

biganakhanhda, please quit with the drawn-out, one-word posts. It fucks up the forum display for everyone else.

If nothing else, please edit your posts and shrink the size down a bit. Thanks.

Doesnt matter (for now) but, as I said at the beginning, I would have held Findley back just for this time of the game. Opponent is tired. Lots more space has opened up. They would be vulnerable to one of his runs now.

But maybe Hercules can play that role.

Another phantom foul by the match referee on a set piece ... this one negates a potentially game-winning goal from Maurice Edu.

Beautiful service from Landon, who is "on" today.
