Time for a tournament sweep!

Bing should put a cherry on top of our tournament performance this Sunday.

On the Mound for the Illini:

Julius Sanchez
RHP
Junior
6'0"
211 lbs
2.25 ERA
Sub 1.0 WHIP

in 12 innings this year

Fastball reaches the mid-to-upper 90s.
High spin rate
, so he can make it move.
2-seamer, change-up
Decent slider

"Athletic look with good lower half strength, has trimmed down his body significantly in the last 6-8 months. Slow paced delivery, gets good torque from his strong lower half, compact arm action that hides the ball well, high 3/4's arm action. 4-seam fastball up to 92 mph with close to 2400 rpm, was up to 96 mph last fall. 2-seam fastball has nice fade and almost serves as a firm change up, works mostly arm side with his fastball. Hand position slider that he gets on top of well, flashes some bite and 2-plane tilt."

"Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Control is solid as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches."

Was recruited as much as a SS as a Pitcher. Was considered pretty much just a control guy who could spot the ball on the corners, until he hit the weight room, gained 30+ lbs of muscle and improved his velocity well into the 90s. .

DOUBLE PLAY!!!!!!!!

Bing had better get it together and fast. Not the start we were looking for. But for the double play, we might be down 2-0 or 3-0 and warming up a long reliever now.

Grounder to Mendoza into very shallow RF where he lurked with our D shift. He's out.

On to the bottom of the 2nd

1-1 tie.

We can hit this pitcher. In the 1st, 2 H generated 1 R. Chamberlain will lead off. He only has 8 AB so far this year.

Top of 3

Well, I don't like this one bit..................

Lead off Triple to the RF power alley. Misplayed by Will. Max has to run it down and fires it in to prevent a potential inside the park HR.

Ha!

U of I's base running coach will soon be coaching at a Kankakee high school.

Bing picks off the runner on 3rd!!!
Good catch and tag by Borba.
