Natural time is a disaster for people that don't live up North.
During most months in the South, it doesn't cool down until about 7:30-ish pm to so much outside without getting super hot.
Kids have a hard time playing in the heat, you can't walk your dog because the pavement is too hot for their feet, and even though I don't mind running in the heat if I'm training for something, now that I'm not, I prefer to run when it's only 85, and that doesn't happen until around 8 pm. At 8, it is dark, and as a woman, I don't feel safe running in the dark, esp with all the homeless people now in San Antonio.
I usually have very good situational awareness, but a few days ago, 2 scrangy men popped out of bushes about 3 feet from my face and one said, "how are you doing pretty lady?"
It freaked me out, but luckily I read the situation the right way, and ignored them, and they didn't follow.
Right now it is dark at 6:30. It's depressing to go to work in the dark, and come home in the dark. There is lots of time wasted in the evenings when it's pitch black outside, vs a group of kids waiting 5-10 minutes together at a bus stop.
I don't understand why people have a huge issue with a one hour time change. Leave it the way it is, if there are truly so many that want natural time.
Personally, everyone I know wants permanent DST.
This is the first time I have ever heard of people in the South wanting NT.
And, it will mean that Trump has gone back on one of his promises during the campaign.
