Trouble in Paradise?

Some ags are finally admitting it. Two of the quotes below are from posters with agtags.

The problem is Texas A&M | TexAgs

"It's not coaching. It's not the program. It's Texas A&M. The way the whole place is run. The culture. All of it."

"Yep. The school is just collectively ****ing losers at everything. Will never win anything of meaning ever. Same old crap year after year after year."

"We are a soft fan base, soft administration, we care more about how we treat other teams, we care more about players who aren't elite whatsoever, but we're told they're amazing. We care more about honoring traditions, and having males be our cheerleaders. We care more about being nice. We don't care about winning, we seriously don't. A&M has non football minds making the football decision because they have money. For all the flack we give tu for letting their donors run the program, our program is worse when it comes to that. And we have Aggie media telling us every off season how this team is stronger, more physical, faster, and how the culture is completely different. This year is going to be different… nothing has changed and nothing will change. We are soft and we are not serious about winning."

Did aggy really say "care more about being nice"?
The whole post is a poorly written sanctimonious attempt to defend aggy culture.
Fail

I like to make fun of aggy as much as the next guy but sometimes, like this morning, I take a moment and I just feel sorry for them. In my life I have gotten to see in person Texas win a football national championship, I have gone to several CWS' including one that Texas won, and been to a basketball Final Four to see Texas play. Aggy has not won a national title in one of the big 3 men's sports since before World War II began. How can a school with that big a student body, that much money, and that much passion, not have won an NC in at least one of the big 3 men's sports in that long? It is truly an epic failure and I know it just eats at the aggy. They spend and spend and spend, they want and want and want, they try and try and try, and it is just not ever enough. So take a moment in between laughing at them for yet another meltdown of a once-promising season and remember somewhere somehow they really pissed of karma and it has been an almost century-long punishment.

I wonder how many psychology thesis papers have been written trying to defend the need to be loved.

Aggies' sports woes probably arise from the fact that they seem to care more about a bunch of strange and off putting traditions than they do about winning.

Seriously, if a genie appeared and offered the collective aggie fan base the guarantee to win the national championship on condition that they could no longer refer to Texas as "tu", a whole bunch of them wouldn't take the deal.

FIFY

We care more about being nice

OK, so the aggy tears include a couple of absolutely BS takes, which I have quoted. I also quoted FWHORN's reaction, with which I vehemently disagree.

The reason I can't even begin to approach feeling like FWHORN is because of aggy delusion, as evidenced in very small part by the first two quotes from some internet aggy. You see, fans that care more about being nice, and care how they treat other teams don't:

1) put loudspeakers on the sidelines to disrupt other teams with artificial noise
2) throw shovels of manure on other teams' fans and/or band
3) allow dorks to wave sabres (however comically feeble the attempt) at another team's cheerleaders
4) allow fans to become so hostile to an opposing band that security is required to get them out of town because said band made a fire hydrant formation as part of their show
5) engender a culture in which, less than one year after a rival school and fanbase collectively goes out of their way to offer deep sympathy for deaths that occurred on the aggy campus due to their incompetence at campfire construction, their students and fans collectively go out of their way to crap all over the rivals as if nothing was ever different.

I could go on, but after experiencing point #5 personally, I have absolutely zero desire to ever feel sorry for them again. In fact, they can take their jackboots, their maroon puff-painted overalls, and their jizz jars and they can shove them right up their loser asses.

You could write a book on the hypocrisy of what is known as aggy. But, as you practice gratitude this morning, just be glad you made a great choice years ago and are not one of those suffering souls.

No need to feel sorry for them - that’s an endless do-loop. When August 2025 rolls around, the Maroon Goober Hyoe Machine will be in full swing….again. And we’ll all watch the “Furk” process gestate once again.

Just sit back and watch, enjoy, and wait for it to recycle. Next stop for them: Schloss and the Texas baseball team. That should be fun to watch this year.

Damn Sangre tell us how you really feel.

aggy started crapping on UT even before the bonfire game even started.
The hotel leaked the coaches room numbers to the mouth breathers who spent all night repeatedly calling them. Then the team didn't receive the pregame breakfast that was contracted and paid for.
Mack had told our players that there would be no trash talking and/or celebrations after scores. aggy on the hand pranced around after their late victory doing the throat slash gesture. Then in the post game presser talked about how it was "fate" they won this game.
Feel sorry for them? Not no, but H**L NO!

I guess I should visit the Aggie website but see no reason. There are enough of them at church from ages 18 to their 90s. That one post is the first time I have ever seen an Aggie (if the poster is one) acknowledge the TRUTH about their athletic department. Just like Cunningham had NO CLUE what the hell he was doing, Texas Agriculture & Mechanical College has suffered the same problem my entire lifetime & I'm old. Alums with money grab power and want to "save A&M" with their vast knowledge of "how it should be done". (Can you say Billie Powers, boys & girls?) The list is long and illustrious but didn't know **** about coaches or whom to call to find out; hence, they remain in a constant state of frustration while making up **** about their "rival" to try to rationalize their continuous failures.

At least Claytie was entertaining. Name me one other alum of any school that "hijacked" his rivals HS & chauffeur at the airport to go on a couple of recruiting visits. (FWIW, Claytie brought enough beer for everyone)

One of my favorite things to do when aggy loses is go to Texags and read. It’s epic and makes my day. Most delusional fan base anywhere. I really think a high percentage of them would rather see Texas lose than aggy win. Their whole existence is to be anti Texas.
Bottom line they never win anything.

After the first 9-3 season this guy will be saying, "We are now our way!".

+1. The SEC Shorts team of writers could do an entire century of skits by doing the same. The humor writes itself.

My BIL is an aggie (class of 1980) and the nicest guy you would ever want to meet. I love him like a full-on brother. I was at his house yesterday and I asked him about the a$m-USC game, which I did not see any of. He told me how they were up 24-7 in Q4 but lost and he expressed frustration, saying, "We were 7-1 this season, and we ended up 8-5!" I thought about asking if he had ever seen the Furk! Roller Coaster thing on the internet, but I demurred. He is just a super guy and I did feel sorry for him personally, but for aggie collectively? Not so much.

Yeah, a friend like you described, I too would leave out the Furk Rollercoaste meme. No sense in rubbing it in.

Nah, just move as if discussing music...'say, what was that song in Beavis and Butthead? Something about a rollercoaster...Furk Rollercoaster?"

As an aside, someone on TexAgs said the furk rollercoaster was real.
