Tom Herman is Mack Brown on steroids.

There are 4-5 5th year senior qbs in the big 12 that will be gone next year too. Its not just about what we have back its about what others are losing. Also we get USC and tcu at home. Big difference.

Serious questions:

1) Does WOS play in the old Orange stadium at 16th & MacArthur? Coldest game I ever played was against Carr Jr High, 28 degrees, frozen field, the entire game played between their goal line and their 20. Nobody could hold on to the ball.

2) I read the article on Earl Thomas in which it said that their were no million dollar homes in Orange. I understand that because of the greatly decreased values, but what happened to Edgar Brown's house? I know his three kids moved out to Little Cypress, except for Slade, who moved to Palm Springs, then back to River Oaks.

3) Has the old Jack Tar House been torn down?

Thanks

We play at Mustang stadium on the west campus in west orange off of newton. Brown house is still here. It is used for events/weddings.

Thanks. I have no idea where the West Campus is, but assume that's in Cove?

Edgar Brown was a great man, the richest man in east Texas. While I was privileged to do business with him, most all of it was handled by Barney Morris.

Slade's purchase of John Dunn's home on River Oaks was a story I've told thousands of times. Mr Dunn could fix any real estate problem in a matter of minutes - actually took him about three minutes to resolve a major problem with that transaction - most of that time was walking around my desk to pick up the phone.

Awesome! It is the main campus/high school off Newton street. Newton is off of western avenue in west orange.

Mack had a heisman trophy winner at rb his first year here.

And then lost him and still went 9-3 in the regular season.

This texas tech loss didn't sting near as much as the "Crabtree catch" Mack had either.

So? Of course it stings less when the stakes are lower. Had we been 11-0 going into the game, this one might have stung worse (final game of the season, at home, blowing a 10 point lead late). And let's not even try to compare 2008 Texas Tech - one of the top 5 teams in the nation with Crabtree at 100% - with 2017 Texas Tech. Only one other in his time as head coach at Tech has Kingbury allowed 23 points or less to a Big 12 team besides Kansas.

Also, you have to have elite qb play at all levels of football these days. We haven't had a qb since colt left.

I think that's less true now than it used to be, with newer styles of offense and all the pro-offense rules changes. Really it's been true for a long time though that college has relatively been more about the coach and the pros have been relatively more about the quarterback (although narrowing it down to just either of them is a gross oversimplification).

No national titles: Peyton Manning, Colt McCoy, Sam Bradford, Marcus Mariota, Jason White, Robert Griffin, Andrew Luck
National titles: Tee Martin, Craig Krenzel, Greg McElroy, Chris Leak, Jake Coker

For the last time........you can't prove me wrong until this time next year. Stop trying. You are grasping for straws and Definetly are not a Texas fan.
This ring in my safe, the paper hanging on my wall, the thousands of dollars in schools loans, and the money I spend to sit and watch football on Saturdays say different. You sir “seem” to be a Herman fan the difference I will be here always you not so sure.

Well if we win the bowl game 7-6 is pretty close to 7-5. Oklahoma, Oklahoma state, and USC could have went our way we are talking 10-2. Again, my whole reason for my post was to say I see it. Even with a first year staff, freshman qb, rb's, and injuries we were not far off from a 10 win season.
I agree with all this, which goes back to my initial point it can be done with young guys you just have to coach them and i did not see that from Beck or Warehime. We got bailed out countless times by the defense and couldn’t even muster a FG (even though he more than likely wouldn’t have made it).
