I think the cheating has to do with his "status", not the fact that he doesn't love his wife or think she is not good in the sack. You see this behavior in a lot of pro athletes, rock stars, and celebrities. Tiger, like a lot of stars, has been told he was special for a long time. He probably got used to being treated like a rock star. The problem is, marriage throws a wrench into this mindset, because it's a partnership and it's hard. A beautiful woman comes along and starts to treat you like a rock star again, and temptation can overcome common sense.

Now with the reports of threesomes and Tiger spending upwards of $60K for women, I think he needs counseling by a professional to save his marriage. The death of his father, Earl, must have affected him more than anyone thought. Earl was the rock that Tiger tethered himself to. It appears that Earl influenced Tiger more than a lot of us realized and kept him in line.

You're right. I have nothing to base it on. I'm no psychiatrist, and it appears I've underestimated how much he was caught up in the golf groupies and other women. There's a story out today that he was having sex with another woman when he got the call that his Dad died. Link
