Thread to discuss teams and games not involving Texas in 2021-2022

So Missouri (with 5 players out for safety protocols including their leading scorer and rebounder) is giving South Carolina fits up by 6 with 4:30 left in the game. Boston just picked up her 4th foul. Great game

South Carolina vs Missouri headed to OT. Mizzou has 8 players suited up tonight and had the final possession with the game tied with 21 seconds left and botched the inbound play.

#19 LSU beats #13 Georgia.
LSU 13-1 so far. At this time last year, LSU was 7-7 and would only go on to win 2 more games for the rest of the year.

And DOWN GOES THE GAMECOCKS!
70-69 in OT

Missouri starters played 91% of the minutes
And Missouri was without five of their players including their best player A. Blackwell. They controlled the tempo and went toe-to-toe with SC the entire game... hit the 3-ball and attacked SC in the paint despite the huge size disadvantage and got ro the FT line.

I'm still SMH on the SC game. Everyone including the coaches were still on Christmas break. All game no one on SC team stopped the dribble drive layup to the basket. The very last shot was the same play MO ran all game. If nothing else foul her so there will be time left on the clock for you to score. SMH! Really wish I was in Dawn's huddle prior to this last play so I could hear what she told her team.

Best to lose now for a gut check and know you're not invisible than to blow it in the S16.

I see that Ole Miss will not be the whipping post for South Carolina on Sunday after that loss at Mizzou. It has been postponed

As of today, Arizona has not played in two weeks and Sunday’s game with UCLA has been postponed. OohWee I hope Texas doesn’t have a long down period like that this season

K State up 18-7 on Baylor at the end of Q1. Man is this conference going to be tough! K State looks really good. Iowa State, ou, K State, Baylor even Kansas. Wow going to be fun watching our Horns navigate there conference schedule.

Baylor goes DOWN 59-68 to K-State!
Ayoka Lee is an absolute monster under the boards. K-State was clearly the better coached team. They are going to be tough in conference play! Baylor was really hanging there heads at the end. Nice to see them have a nice big slice of humble pie!

Maybe now Baylor - who has beaten nobody worth mentioning - will finally drop down in the rankings. Not that it matters, but our only loss is to #7 and we beat #2. It never made sense that Baylor was ranked higher.

Ayoka Lee makes Queen Egbo and Nalyssa Smith look like guards compared to her. She's a beast. She's going to be a problem for everyone including our Texas WBB.

It looks like five teams: Texas, Iowa State, Baylor, Kansas State, and Oklahoma are a step or two in front of everyone else in the Big 12.

I was watching some women’s games this weekend and it seemed like it was in slow motion. Whether zone or soft man to man……it made me wonder. I think Schaefer’s full court pressure D is unique to the women’s game. I couldn’t immediately identify another team that does that. For sure other coaches/teams hate to play against it. And since teams that match up with Horns in The Dance typically struggle…….it gives Schaefer a chance every year to get to Elite 8. If Horns match up well with a team without exceptional guard play…..we can sneak higher. Even though our talent is less. In another year or two, Schaefer won’t have the talent deficiencies and a Final Four will be expected….maybe every year. I’m rambling …..but is there another team out there that plays similar pressure D?

I have been thinking about this too. I have to think that a girl looking at colleges would consider how intense practice and games are for UT. I would guess that Vic misses out on some kids because they see playing for him as too hard. I think he's looking for those few who are willing to put in the work to succeed academically at a top University and to have a chance at a National Championship.

A&M at Tennessee airs on SEC at 5:30 today

Another interesting matchup tonight in the SEC has South Carolina at LSU

Big crowd in Baton Rouge so I looked it up and they’re averaging just over 6k per game. Looks like tonight’s attendance will up that average

Kim wearing a shiny jacket worthy of a downtown Vegas lounge (and hasn’t found a good tailor there yet). Three point game with 3:00 to go

LSU’s home schedule has included games against #1 South Carolina, #13 Georgia, #14 Iowa State and #23 Texas A&M. Hopefully our attendance will inch up once we start playing higher ranked, quality opponents.

LSU lost to South Carolina 66-60. I’m not a fan of Mulkey but she’s having an impressive first season at LSU.

Wow the SEC had a full slate of games tonight (7 games).

Enjoyed the games but I loathe the SEC sports channel. I have two SEC channels and they only play sports on one channel. They show many games on SEC+ streaming. AARRGGH!! They could have used both channels last night and showed more games on the SEC cable channels. SMH!! I guess that sounds too much like right. It drives me crazy having to switch from cable back to my tv internet to connect to the ESPN app. If I could stay in the ESPN app and watch all the games, annoying but OK. But no you can't watch the SEC games on cable on the SEC+ streaming in the app. :brickwall: So I had to keep switching back and forth last night. I tell ya, these crazy WCBB fans. :smile1:
