The Prevailing Windbags of Lubbock

What lecturer doesn't seem to grasp is that anyone with a computer and an Internet connection can visit sites like raiderpower and in a very short period of time come to the conclusion that many, many tceh fans are hewing hard to the line that they got screwed by the refs, Texas had the fix in, Mack has super secret mind control powers, blah, blah, blah.

That's what the threads on this board are referring to; it's called context.

This win was enjoyable, but it would've meant more to us if y'all had beaten Colorado and TCU.

In summation: the prevailing opinion of tceh fans is that they got swindled. The prevailing opinion of Horns fans is that we gave you three fumbles, an interception return for a score, 500-plus yards of passing, and y'all couldn't pull it out. That's a lot of work for even Republican referees to overcome. The 4th down calls were substantively correct. The PI on your guy was identical to the PI call on Ross earlier in the quarter. Bottom line: the pork chop was on the plate and y'all weren't hungry.

As for the OSU reference, you can invent all the rancor you need, I guess, whatever makes you feel better.

i love sand aggy....absolutely love them...squashing their premature crescendo of ecstacy was fantastic, and their pathetic woe-is-me wailing is as comical as it is pathetic and mirrors greatly their revered relative, real aggy
 
honestly, only the piggies are more insufferable on this board than the tcehsters. that includes the tOSU whiners from last year and your average sooner....

Its fun to watch them get their hopes up only to rip their hearts out. Its even more fun when the guy who does it is a West Texan himself with a hot GF the techies aren't allowed to touch. Really, it represents everything as it should be.

Honestly, who would go to Tech? Why not just go to a JuCo or something? Has anyone in a hiring position ever hired a person from Tech? I have never even seen a Texas Tech resume come across my desk; I assume it means they just know better.
 
I'm from Lubbock..went to the game etc. etc. etc.

I was telling my wife that there are very, very few people who actually wanted to go to Tech. Who grows up thinking it would be great to someday go to Texas Tech? All of my friends from high school who went to Tech had no other option for whatever reason.

Look at Texas, the aggies, etc....and there are kids who want nothing mroe than to attend that school. Tech is full of a bunch of people who would have LOVED to go to another school..but couldn't.

Same with the players..the coaches...everybody.

Oh..and tech fans suck ***. Seriously suck...worst fans I've been around simply because they have no reason to be such jack asses. I love winning this game.
 
Do we need an ID card to be a minion? Or can anyone join? I've always wanted to be a minion, but so far I've been an independent. Is the initiation ritual rough? Do we have to have lots of water poured on our privates or anything like that?
 
While Raiders clogging the interweb tubes seem to be more annoying than many other fan bases, my experience with them in person does not jive with the rest of the thread.

In fact, Lubbock is one of my favorite road trips because outside of generally good natured ribbing and trash talk, it is just a good old fashioned drunk-fest. Most Tech fans I've met seem to take their team less seriously and instead concentrate on having fun and developing a drinking problem.

hey, leave the "they only go to Tech because they can't get into UT or A&M" smack to the Aggies. We don't need to get involved in that crap.
 
Based on the many people I know that went to Tech... it wasn't the first choice for probably 80% of them. Only about 10% would admit it, though.

I love Tech. They beat aggy every year and then provide endless entertainment when we beat them.

This reminds me of a bit The Ticket did last year. Corby was introducing new toys for Christmas. He had a talking Texas Tech Red Raider doll. You pull the string and here all kinds of great things like, "We were robbed. GET YOUR GUNS UP!" "The referee was bought off. GET YOUR GUNS UP!" "They paid those players. GET YOUR GUNS UP!"
 
Cajun, Not that it matters a great deal, but I hate to break it to you, but Mack wasn't quoting Spike on that deal.

And without a doubt you guys are going to deny it if you choose to respond, but as soon as posters start replying with Lubbock sucks, nobody chooses TT, etc. you can bet you've touched a nerve somewhere. That or you're from College Station.
 
Every person I know who has gone to Tech did so because they couldn't get into a better school... granted most of the people I know weren't dumb enough to have to go to Tech... but there were a few...
