The First 100 days

I wonder why Hillary didn't know about the apparent flawed intelligence but people on this board did.

You nearly had to listen to Cheney to understand the admin started with a plan then went searching for intelligence to support it. The problem wasn't the intelligence, but how it was used or disregarded.

I was in the 30% of America that openly disagreed with Gulf War 2. Oh, I could care less what HRC thought.

I'm trying to get to the bottom of what people say here, what "their" politicians say and do and why we argue about it all (and block some people in the process). George Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld were declared to be war criminals by very loud voices from the Left. I remember it all very well. But George Bush went to Congress and received authorization to attack. I don't think the resolution was exactly a declaration of war such as what took place after Pearl Harbor but he asked them to step up and be accountable. Hillary said yea and Bernie said nay. Hillary voted to allow the executive branch to engage in shock and awe in her role as a United States Senator. She did that.

Bernie's speech explaining his vote against the resolution is on YouTube and is quite eloquent and balanced. He made perfect sense. But Hillary didn't do that. Then Obama savaged her in their primary debates over her vote. Fast forward to 2016, she and her power brokers ensured that Bernie did not win the nomination. And everyone on the Left was "I'm with her." Fine. Being with her meant Liberal values just like "being with him" are Conservative values, hence the Supreme nominations. Neither Hillary or Trump are about values. They are about power and that power represents the values. The faces and personalities mean nothing. Let's just be real about it all.

That stuff makes me want to vomit. Yet Trump is attacked as if he is Hitler. The whole thing is extremely disheartening. That is the hypocrisy that I attack and why at times I lurch to the right as you recently asked me about.

And now we see Michelle Obama openly hugging and loving on George Bush... WTF is going on?

Yes, that's my understanding too. Essentially the EO said the federal government won't pursue deportation procedures for these individuals. Not sure if the EO opened up any other rights.

It went a step further. It also created a separate immigration status that can be formally applied for. Frankly, that's the big thing that made it controversial, because it killed the "prosecutorial discretion" argument.

Kind of. The rate of decline decreased significantly but continued to decline. Then it dropped hard again in beginning of 2016. After a big jump there is a gradual upward trend since mid to late 2016. Then a jump at the very end.

New poll from CNN
With only 25% Reps in the sample:
48% approve of the GOP/Trump tax cut
40% oppose

Independents favor 50-35
And those earning less than $50K support 43-40

The media told us in 2018 that this issue was killing the GOP

I wonder if any Dem on here ( or AntiTrumper) can explain why Dems are against barriers?
We know Trump is asking for everything NOT just barriers
So why are the Dems now against barriers?

...

They know why
But clearly they have been instructed not to state it publicly, probably under threat
If the public wants to see the truth from them on this, then it must wait for the next Wikileaks dump of their internal communications, because you can bet they discuss it privately

I think it is either or a combo of bashing anything Trump wants and thinking they can get citizenship and voting rights for the illegals.

The US is now a "net exporter" of energy products. This deal below will ensure that continues to grow. Of course, liberals hate it and, of course, that hate is irrational. It's much cleaner than coal. It's cheap. And we have 300 years worth inside our national borders. I have always considered it "the natural bridge" to low cost renewable energy. Plus, it would let us wash our hands of the Middle East, which was once a goal lefties embraced. But they hate it anyway. Plus, the natural gas industry has probably had the worst lobbyists and industry PR in the entire world over the last 40 years. They have been horribly pathetic promoting their own product.

Anyways .... ExxonMobil and Qatar have struck a deal for a new LNG facility in Sabine Pass (near Port Arthur) called the "Golden Pass LNG Terminal." Construction to begin this year, will take 5 years and to begin shipping in 2024 (its refitting an existing LNG terminal). It's a $10B project that will "ultimately be able to produce roughly 16 million tons of LNG each year." For export.

Golden Pass expects to create 9,000 construction jobs and over 200 permanent jobs. It is projected to generate up to $31 billion in economic gains for the U.S., and $4.6 billion in federal, state, and local tax revenue, according to Exxon.

Illegal aliens also count in determining the spread of electoral votes. This is part of the reason they are fighting that Census question on citizenship so hard. If we disregarded the illegal count in Calif, their over-sized influence in the electoral system would take a hit. So would Texas' but not by as much.

So it would seem it's a garrison of sorts. It's hard to imagine that 2,000 troops can have so much impact.
It depends on what impact you desire. If your goal is just to keep the bad guys from coalescing and gaining momentum then 2000 is plenty. That's all our guys are/were doing in Syria, Iraq and AFG.

We won't "win" those conflicts with 2,000 but we can sure as heck keep the bad guys from getting a full head of steam and gaining territory.
