What frustrates me about our offense isn't the low batting average, it's how they go brain dead for extended innings.
Loy's antics in the fourth are a great example. He battles back from an 0-2 count and grabs a base on balls, but then he takes a mental vacation and gets picked off.
If our pitchers played with the same lack of focus and intensity, our team ERA would be 5.0+.
Anyway, enough ranting. I just wish the hitters and baserunners would keep their heads in the game rather than always put so much pressure on our pitchers.
And as I type that, Green gives up a two-run jack that ties the game. I suppose our hitters will wake up now cuz they don't have a lead to take for granted.
