Texas vs UConn, Sunday, 12/3 (ABC)

It was a great atmosphere in the Moody today! I know it tightened up at the end but it never felt like we were going to lose to me.

Harmon and Booker were absolutely stellar. It was my first time seeing Booker play in person and I’m just amazed how she moves. I love that Texas came out to start the game hitting 6 shots in a row. Rori just amazes me playing lockdown defense without fouling.

Amina had herself a GAME! Her shot is so much improved from last season. She is a major hustler, gritty rebounder and a fighter. I like it when she’s on the court on both ends. She’s given notice it’s going to be hard not to give her minutes when everybody is healthy.

Gonzalez really impressed me with her defense, I think it has greatly improved from last season.

Coach Conradt gave Vic a huge hug after the game. It warmed my heart seeing them embrace with the biggest of smiles.

It’s becoming even more clear what an even deeper team this is going to be when everybody is 100%. They could be very dangerous in the post season

Madison is smooth as butter and Rori is the engine that keeps chugging along. What a thing of beauty from the two of them. A great team effort by all. It is time Texas gets some more decent press. This win was not all about Unconn`s injuries, but more about Texas` play. Hope the press realizes that and gives the Horns their just due.:bevo:

I was happy the announcers, especially Rebecca Lobo, were not totally biased although I really grew tired of Beckers, Beckers, Beckers. Rori outplayed her all over the court. At least they gave Booker the praise she deserved. Mina has to be the most improved player so far this saeason. And Coach Sark came to support the ladies!

The TV announcers couldn't believe that Booker is only averaging slightly under 11 points a game; then they realized she has only averaged 21 minutes a game due to the team's depth and blowing out opponents early.

If Vic allowed her to be an even bigger focal point of the offense (not that it's needed so far), she'd average 15-20 points. That mid-range jumper she has is so sweet! Makes you wonder why more players don't work harder on their mid-range game. That is a perfect anecdote to zone defenses if you can find that sweet spot.

Since it was not mentioned on this board, I guess you didn't see it on TV? Somewhere in the middle of the game, Bueckers was being subbed out. I think(?) her replacement handed her a towel but what I saw was as Bueckers was heading back to the bench, she angrily threw the towel (it was some small blue thing) at one of the chairs and had a look of disgust on her face. Either she was very frustrated with her play or that she was being pulled by coach.

Speaking of injuries, it was a great surprised to see Hadi play considering she had her arm in a sling on Wednesday. Let's get healthy!

Years ago, Geno had similarly nice things to say about Nina Norman (one of my all time favorite UT players)
While he was talking, I was thinking about if it was Sea Hag up there talking after a loss. Lots of bodies being thrown under their bus as well as multiple back-handed compliments thrown our way.

Harmon and Booker should be B12 POW and FOW. Both should be considered for national weekly awards also.

Rebecca Lobo has always been one of my favorite TV analysts. What's not to love?

Lobo is one of my favorites too! I think she has great insight to the women’s game and doesn’t come off as biased but I’m amazed at the complaints I see about her (especially accusing her of UCONN bias). I guess that’s par for the course in that line of work. But when I saw she was covering the game I looked forward to watching the replay even more.

Stephanie White was also saying she thinks Texas is a Final Four caliber team during the halftime show of Ohio St vs Tennessee. I’m on a couple of WNBA fan boards on Facebook and of course during this time of year most of the discussion is about college ball and hardly any mention of Texas but that changed yesterday. They love the Sea Hag about as much as we do so that’s a bonus lol

Apparently ESPNW POW is someone from Gonzaga who led their victory over Stanford. I'm sure that I am biased, but I don't see how anybody could have had more control over the outcome of a game than Rori did vs UConn. Again, we're talking about 27 points, 13 assists, 5 rebounds, amazing defense on one of the best players in the nation, and completely controlling the tempo of the game.

I saw the exact same thing...it was gold.
