Texas vs UConn, Sunday, 12/3 (ABC)

After a nice win against Kansas yesterday, at 4-2, UConn's next game is with us a week from today. At 7-0, is it possible current #12 Texas will be ranked higher than current #6 UConn for that game?

I hope not. We'll know tomorrow.

Although a Texas home win against 4-2 Oral Roberts (lost to TCU by 20 and OU by 29) on Wednesday is likely, that game will not factor into this week's rankings.

I had the same thought! Hopefully UConn is still in Top Ten.

I’m going to the game so it’s not a huge deal but I always DVR games I attend so I can watch and see what I missed and the commentary. It’s on ABC and I saw the local ABC affiliate here in Dallas will not be broadcast on Direct TV or U-Verse starting November 30th if they don’t reach a negotiation by then. I’m assuming I can watch the replay on ESPN+ but I’m bothered that the nationally televised game won’t be seen in the DFW and surrounding areas. It’s good exposure for Texas WBB that will be undercut.

I’m curious if it’s more than just the Dallas affiliate. I hate when that happens and the viewers are the ones who get screwed because they’re paying for it


PS it also entails the Big 12 Conference Football championship game on Saturday if they don’t get it together.

I shouldn’t think a loss to #2 UCLA should have much effect on UConn’s ranking. NC State is also looking very strong. I’m really looking forward to seeing our team play against a top 10 to 25 team. I’m encouraged that the team has not played down to the competition, something they have done in the past. Vic culture taking hold.
 
HornView, unless it is resolved, there will be no ABC on Direct TV or AT&T U-verse in Austin for next weekend's football game or the UConn game on Sunday. It is beyond frustrating. I'm not making the assumption that it will be on ESPN+ either. In the places I look, like Texassports.com, ESPN+ is usually listed when a UT game is available on it. It is not listed as an option there or some other place I looked (can't remember where now). I haven't looked to see how far in advance ESPN+ lists their upcoming games.

ABC affiliates just resolved a 2 month standoff on DISH Network. I missed a lot of the UT coverage, and it didn't matter to DISH or Hearst Media that users were upset. I would get ready for the long haul.

And irrational in my opinion. UConn lost to NC State, now #5, and to #2 UCLA. Texas’ closest game was an 18 point win over 2-5 Liberty. Liberty beat Frostburg State (who?) and SFA. Really looking forward to seeing how the Longhorns look against a top 10ish team.

With UConn coming up it's an absolute shame we have not faced a team that has tested us yet! We don't even know how good we are and the Big 12 is going to be "Bad to the Bone" this year!! I think we have a lot of growing to do!

On the bright side, unlike leading up to last year's game, at least we have already played 7 games as opposed to just one.

Because we haven't had a real test, we've played our depth so much that I don't think we really have an identity yet. Well, we'll find out on Sunday who we are. I agree... lots of growing to do.
 
Rebounding will be key. I think we have the depth inside to get Aaliyah Edwards into foul trouble; but, we need Taylor and Hadi to play smart defense.

Fingers crossed that DeYona returns on Sunday!
 
Is the game sold out? I got an email today saying limited tickets still available but the link took me to my season tickets. Hunted around a bit and found all the other games listed but not UConn. I don’t need tickets and would love for it to be sold out, but am curious why I would get an email this evening about tickets only to click on it immediately and not be able to find tickets.
 

I don't know what all you goobers are talking about with tickets only available on seatgeek. They are available at TexasSports.com/tickets

The confusion might be because it won’t let you purchase tickets via the App. Must go to the website
 
If you have DirectTV or AT&T U-verse, forget about watching the football championships or the UT-UConn game through either of those systems, since ABC will be gone for awhile due to a contract dispute One solution -- go back to antenna TV to get your local ABC network. Someone picked up an antenna system for me from Best Buy. Works great.
 
Some Vic media availability. Good stuff especially at about the 18:30 mark where he addresses a question about NIL and illegal recruitment that is happening as a result of it. VERY INTERESTING... geux listen to it. ;)

But I have ATT Uverse as a WiFi and cable provider, so ABC is blocked on the apps.
I listened to today's football game on LHN Statcast, so eventually saw all the highlights and the after-game hoopla. Waiting to dump Uverse until next year, because it has LHN plus Bally, so I can watch Wings and Rangers. First World problem, I know.

Well somebody’s head should roll. We live in an app world and buying tickets on an app is not something new. It probably could have sold out. I would have impulsed purchased four but the app said no seats were available so I just settled for my season seats and didn’t invite friends.

I agree! I couldn’t get parking on the App either had to go to website AND it won’t bring up this years schedule on the WBB section
