Thanks for the updates, as always, NBH...

Last year, we were 8-8 at this point. 11-5 feels much better. Just need to see a couple of more bats wake up somehow, and we could be pretty good. The pitching seems quite solid so far. But I fear that the batting may get no better, just like the last few years.

If the bats don't wake up, I wouldn't be surprised if we drop a couple to Tech and then to UH next week.

I just cannot understand this continued problem for so many years with the bats. This is getting crazy. We just can't recruit anybody good on that department or what? We also have had no power at all for years now. Pretty much ever since Kyle Russell left. That's okay if we have some 5 or 6 guys hitting .300, but year after year we struggle to have even 4 guys over .275. This needs to change.

Well, we'll see over the next year if Tommy Nicholson can do better than the old Tommy at recruiting.

My guess is that he'll put a lot more energy into it, will be willing to travel farther, and will be willing to travel more.

And my guess, too, is that he'll be able to teach hitting better than the old one.

All that meaning, of course, that I think hitting will be better next year (and maybe better later this year).
