Texas vs Oklahoma game thread

That was a desperate drive by OU. Ebbs and flows. Trend still in place. More opportunities against their D than against ours.

We really should have called some timeouts so we could do something with the ball there.

That can't be right unless I'm missing something. Colt won in his first RRS start in 2006. Landry Jones won in his first RRS start in 2010. Heard won in his first RRS start in 2015.

EDIT: Oh, I think all of those years both teams had a first-time starter. They had to have meant if one team has a QB making his first RRS start but the other team doesn't, otherwise the stat makes no sense because both guys can't lose.

Right; that's what they said: the winning team had a QB who played in it at least once before.

So, there are a couple of stats: 1) Fox just said that Herman is 10-1 with a halftime lead 2) The team with the quarterback who starts the RR SHOOTOUT for the first time has lost the last 13 times in a row (I heard that one on the radio earlier).

That bodes well for Texas next year as well. Sam will be back and blOwU will be breaking in another new QB.

Still, we are going into the half up by a TD
Start with the ball too, but really felt if we call TOs we could have gotten the ball with 1:30 left and stolen an extra series. This reminds me of playing Tech. You gotta maximize series and hold them to some field goals.

Defense appears to be clueless all the way around which was the concern before the game. It is hard to correct when there isn't something good to build on. If the offense can keep scoring TD’s not a problem.

Sam is looking better than I've ever seen him.
That first deep throw to Collin was perfect.
Our D is going to have to step it up in the 2nd half.
Theirs will.
So let's see how well Beck handles in game adjustments

Ugh... too much time left in this game. I feel like our offense has been as good as it could possibly be so far. We need another half like that! If we can get to the fourth quarter with that lead, I really think we can put the sleeper hold on this game. And yes, I am absolutely wanting to watch Kyler Murray tap out. Lots of work to do yet!
