Winner advances, loser goes home. Ah, the irony.

What a strange day of games. Tomorrow (Sun) should be interesting.

I have no problem being the first team in the CWS. Being the first to leave.......well, that's another story.

Bluto: Hey! What's all this laying around stuff? Why are you all still laying around here for?
Stork: What the hell are we supposed to do, ya moron? We're all expelled. There's nothing to fight for anymore.
D-Day: [to Bluto] Let it go. War's over, man. Wormer dropped the big one.
Bluto: What? Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!
Otter: [to Boon] Germans?
Boon: Forget it, he's rolling.
Bluto: And it ain't over now. 'Cause when the goin' gets tough...
[thinks hard of something to say]
Bluto: The tough get goin'! Who's with me? Let's go!
[Bluto runs out, alone; then returns]
Bluto: What the **** happened to the Delta I used to know? Where's the spirit? Where's the guts, huh? This could be the greatest night of our lives, but you're gonna let it be the worst. "Ooh, we're afraid to go with you Bluto, we might get in trouble." Well just kiss my *** from now on! Not me! I'm not gonna take this. Wormer, he's a dead man! Marmalard, dead! Niedermeyer...
Otter: Dead! Bluto's right. Psychotic... but absolutely right. We gotta take these ********. Now we could do it with conventional weapons, but that could take years and cost millions of lives. No, I think we have to go all out. I think that this situation absolutely requires a really futile and stupid gesture be done on somebody's part!
Bluto: We're just the guys to do it.
D-Day: [stands up] Yeah, I agree. Let's go get 'em.
Boon: Let's do it.
Bluto: [shouting] "Let's do it"!
[all of the Deltas stand up and run out with Bluto]

Wouldn't matter...we'd still be bunting.

Going to bottom of 3rd: 1-0 Horns. Double by Guritz, scores later on sac fly. Patton with his first hit of series.

Hinojosa lead off single. Shaw can't get bunt down, but gets base hit. Carter sac bunt. Runners 2/3. Clemens hits with Roger looking on from announcer's booth. Time to look good. Error by short stop. Run scores. Runners 1/3. Guritz tries to bunt, missed. K by Guritz. Marlow grounds out.
Horns 2-0 going to bottom of 4.

First batter grounds out. Patton walks. Berrera get on error on 2b. Runners 1/3. Hinojosa grounds to pitcher. Throws to 2nd for out, then ss throws wild to first. Patton scores. 2 outs. Shaw flies out.
Horns lead 3-0 going to bottom of 5.

Great play by Hinojosa. Bang bang. Mgr argues call. F-7, 2 outs. Single. Great catch by Johnson in lf.
3-0 Horns going to top 6.

Marlow: F8 1 out
Johnson: K 2 out that's 6 in a row for the pitcher
Payton: F-7
Horns 3-0 going to bottom of 7. Need more runs guys.

What a surprise. Walk and hbp to start the 9
8th. Why why why. The hp ump calling it very tightly on that walk imo

Good job by Parker French, but he's coming out of the game...
Reliever coming in.
Men on second and third, one out.
Travis Duke coming in, to face leftie, I suppose.

French still pitching in the 8th.
Lead off walk-
Hit by pitch- 2 on, no outs
Sac- runners 2/3 1 out
Pitcher change: Duke coming in
4-3 runner at 3rd scores 2 out
K big strike out
Horns lead 3-1 Going to top 9

Duke induces grounder to second for easy out, but runner from third scores, it is 3-1, two out, count is 1-2 . Big, big strikeout, it is 3-1 going to ninth.

We are three outs away from eliminating Louisville.
Why does Duke seem to be more effective against right-handers than lefties?
Parker French only gave up four hits today. Outstanding.

Carter base hit off Birdi (their all american relief pitcher)
Clemens s/b bunting: bunted..pitcher throws high to 2nd all safe
Replay shows Carter was out, but we'll take it. Their 4th error
Gurwitz bunts..runners move to 2/3 1 out
Marlow F7 Sac run scores 2 out
Johnson: K
Horns lead 4-1 going to bottom 9

Texas batting in top of ninth, and with a runner on first we bunt, the pitcher fields and throws to second, throw is very high, but second baseman fields it and comes down and touches bag just before the runner, but we get the call anyway. That is the second bad call on the bases to go UT's way today, BTW.
Maybe we were due, because Spike was safe at third in 1982 and we wuz robbed.

Lead off hitter KKKKK 1 out Duke still in
6-3 2 outs
6-3 Ball game
Horns WIN 4-1
Great pitching today, with French and Duke, great defense, hitting ok. Louisville's 4 errors tied season high. Great job guys. Play again on Wednesday. We will NOT be one of the first 2 teams eliminated. Hook'm.

I wasn't sure about this game, but since we survived, I think we may be in better shape than some other teams with our pitching depth. We'll see. We're still in Omaha!
